Changing Center Console 95% done...

So the ever posted topic of changing the center console in the US from Piano Black to Ash Wood with a Clock is almost done. The only thing missing right now is the functioning clock, the dealer is doing the research right now and once the (custom)harness is ordered and in, the car will go back for install and coding.

Looks great! Are you going to do door panels? (If didn't do already)

Thanks everyone. I'm not going to do the door panels as I like the brushed aluminum look with the black leather seats.

Cost- TOO EXPENSIVE
Open Pore Ash Wood Trim-$560
Clock-$310
Switch Block-$220
Labor-$195

I expected it to cost more, but it's still a little expensive

So how did you convince your dealership to order you the parts and install them?

I love the look of the Black ash with the Aluminum trim
and I think that the Aluminum trim door panels look better because they match the Burmeister aluminum

So what did you do with your original console, the Black piano? did you sell it? or did you trade it in for a lower price on the black ash?

I may consider doing this if the panel comes available without the clock hole as rumored the 2016 builds may not have that clock.

Why does that little clock cost more than the rest?

I remember seeing a thread somewhere in this forum where a person swapped out his clock for a more expensive clock

Didn't really take any convincing. I spoke to them about what I wanted to do, did a lot of the research on my own and also with another dealership on the east cost. Gave them a lot of the part numbers and my dealer took care of the ordering.

I still have the old black piano and will most likely eBay it once my clock is functioning.

Good to see that you're getting exactly what you wanted !! Not a bad price considering you'll be sitting in the cabin each day now not regretting what you have !!!

At least now we know that there is a way to switch out if we really wanted to !!

can you please edit your first post and put in the part numbers and the parts?if you still have them

because I might consider doing what you did

and I don't to go through every single post to find it, So I would be easier if it was in the first post

Lol sure, later when I'm home. The original reason why I didn't, is that part numbers are very specific to your VIN(option packages). So what works for my car will not necessarily work for anyone else.

This looks so much better than the Piano.

I wouldn't blink if quoted twice that where I live, so unfortunately holding off.

You could buy the parts online if your local dealer is quoting you more.

How'd you remove the console? Does it just pull up? I can't really tell from the photo.

Thinking of doing the same. What is the part number for the Open Pore Ash Wood trim?
