Saw it on a 204 and 205, looks good on the 204 but with the LED daytime strip on the 205's, the illuminated star is far less cool
Stock LED's are way better looking on the 205's than the later 204 models so I didn't see the need to tack it on the options list

I ordered the illuminated Gen 1 star for my 2015 C300, I thought it looked cool.
But I do feel the Gen 2 version (which stays on with the headlights & while driving) is more pretentious then the Gen 1 version I'm getting...which only comes on when you unlock the doors, and doesn't stay on while you're driving.

ive seen enough of theses on the road. the one that stays on all the time looks tacky.
i'd also say that its not bright enough, so it looks a little under lit. i mean if you are going to be tacky, you might as well do it well.

Didn't even realise this was an option. Given my limited knowledge I'd like this as welcome light / leave car when parked at night.
Now if only they made it pulsate between red and blue ...

I have seen some where the illumination level wasn't the same all the way around the star and that makes it look tacky and cheap. I'm in between on it, it looks good on some cars, others it just looks bad.

I have the illuminated star. It looks good, but a lot under-lit. You can only see it in pitch black conditions like night driving or in your garage(night time). Its a 500$ option for me and I got it. :-(

If you're asking then it's probably not something that appeals to you. You can see from the various posts that it's a personal preference...either you like it or you don't. In any case that was one of my 1st mods...
