2016 C450 Order Guide is Available

//update

An anonymous source has provided the full guide, did not come straight from me;

[Link Removed*]

Production to start in August with retail availability in September.

Definitely replacing C400 in lineup as that was quite clear earlier but this is definitive about it.

No final pricing but some option prices do show. There is an exclaimer that pricing could change when finalized.

I was asked not to distribute this but do have a copy. The cat is "out of the bag" so to speak, so ask any questions you like and I will answer from the info I have.

Hopefully someone affiliated with a dealer will spill the beans and attach the guide to this thread.

Dealer thinks starting price for the C450 will be in the "high $50K's" which seems ludicrous to me as it replaces the $48,000 C400 4Matic in the lineup and it seems hard to believe they would include a $10K premium for AMG sport badge.

Here are some initial tidbits I can share;

Standard Equipment;
  • - 3.0 Liter Biturbo V-6 Engine
  • - 7-Speed SPEEDSHIFT Plus Transmission
  • - AMG Performance 4MATIC
  • - 18” Staggered Wheels
  • - AMG Tuned Exhaust
  • - AMG Adaptive Suspension with Customer Selectable Mode Switch
  • - AMG Dynamic Select
  • - AMG Recalibrated ESP
  • - Unique Instrument Cluster Design
  • - MB-Tex/Dinamica Interior with Red Contrast Stitching & Seat Belts
  • - Performance Brakes with Larger Rotors
  • - All-Season MOE Tires
  • - Power/Memory Seats
  • - Power/Memory Steering Column
  • - Power/Memory/Dimming/Folding Mirrors
  • - Gloss Black and Aluminum Trim
  • - Split-Folding Rear Seat
  • - Keyless Go
  • - Single DVD Drive
  • - Touchpad
  • - SIRIUS Satellite Radio
  • - Mbrace
  • - Dual Zone Climate Control
  • - Garage Door Opener
  • - Body Color Rear Deck Lid Spoiler
  • - Diamond Grille
  • - All-Season MOE Tires
  • - Blind Spot Assist
  • - Collision Prevention Assist Plus
  • - 7 Airbags

Also, Burmeister audio is now its own package (P2pkg). Multimedia package includes COMAND navi, 8.4" screen and rear camera and is priced tentatively at $2690.

Any options list for the C450??

voip1 06-10-2015 06:38 PM

Yes,

In addition to the Burmeister audio package and multimedia package there is "lighting package", "handsfree package", "driver assistance package", "surround view package" and numerous standalone options.... for example "silver seat belts" is available as a standalone option for $500.

There are also MANY interior options listed;

Black Leather w/red stitching and trim (upgrades from the MB-Tex) - $TBA
Black Leather $TBA
Cranberry/Black Leather $TBA
Crystal Gray/Black Leather $TBA

As well as Designo interiors saddle brown or crystal gray.

AMG Recaro inspired seats are also available as an upgrade for $2500.

The 2016 C63 changes were minor, limited to the below

996 - Cardinal Red Metallic Paint
501pkg – Surround View Package
P62pkg – designo Platinum White/Black Package
P87pkg – designo Saddle Brown Package

Is Cardinal Red paint available for the C450?

LateC300 06-10-2015 07:47 PM

wow, looks like a lightly optioned up c450 will be going right into the c63 territory...not sure how many people would rather have basically a c450 with leather over a "base" c63.

but to each his/her own!

Not sure how you are getting to that when we don't know price yet. It seems hard to believe that C450 will start only just below price of C63 but clearly it is going to run more than C400 did.

Granted we knew what was coming with the C450 but I am still surprised they are introducing it one year after the C400, and even more surprised they didn't wait until they got their new inline 6s ready. I am assuming (i hope correctly) that the next gen W213 E350 will use the I6 so it can't be that far away from production. They should have kept the 400 for another year

That same argument can be made about why they are using the outdated 7T automatic when they have had the much superior 8T available now for some time.

autopal 06-10-2015 08:43 PM

One puzzling omission from the C450 option list is a heated steering wheels. Hard to believe

rustycruiser 06-10-2015 08:59 PM

It looks like it has pretty much the exact same interior and exterior options as the C63. Minus drivetrain stuff (carbon ceramic brakes, AMG performance exhaust)

Wait they have a better tanny? Some times I really wonder what their thought process is.

Is the 8T in use by any of their other cars...?

It has already been confirmed no heated steering wheel. Something about the sport steering wheel not being offered heated and I suspect on C450 there is no option to put the non-sport "regular" wheel in.

My bad, 9T;

http://www.atzonline.com/Article/177...edes-Benz.html

In use in E350 blutech apparently but original planned application when the transmission was revealed two years ago was S class.

I think dealers don't know crap when the manufacturer does not provide the info and start guessing.

C450 is going head to head with Audi S4 and BMW M-sport 340xi.

Audi S4 starts at $48900 and the M-sport 340xi is priced at about $51K.

It is very hard for me to believe that Mercedes thinks they can compete by pricing the C450 $5,000+ more than those two.

The dealer is just spit balling and all I did was repeat their info as well as my doubts about it.

My guess is that C450 base is going to be about $52,900 and with a few options it is going to be $55K easily.

autopal 06-10-2015 10:03 PM

The C450 will not be a lot more expensive than a fully equipped C400. Yes the base price will be 3 to 4 grand more, but it also comes with a lot more standard options

LateC300 06-10-2015 10:24 PM

the car is going to be a beast. severely underrated 0-60 times on that guide.

and man, that designo platinum leather with the amg seats look AMAZING...but that's about $5-6k just for that combo

BMW with similar hp and torque is claiming 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds for the 340 x-drive, but the BMW is probably a little lighter than the C450 and has a better transmission.

I do think that Mercedes is rating 0-60 (and possibly WHP) conservatively in an effort not to steal sales of the C63.

I do pity anyone who got a C400. For another $5,000 roughly (my guess) the C450 is going to eat its breakfast, lunch and dinner. The adaptive suspension, sport transmission and better engine are easily worth the price difference and of course the C450 is going to kill resale of the C400 for those who bought vs leased.

I agree, and for those who bought a fully optioned C400, the difference will be quite a bit less than $5,000

And that is just one of the reasons why I dumped my C400 now versus waiting even longer to see if the dealerships could get their **** together and fix the various issues...

Come on already with the pricing and order availability MB USA, jesus christ.

Actually all of the dismissal of the C450 as a "wannabe" C63 is kind of hilarious. This should end up being the sleeper high performance sedan for the 2016 model year and I suspect it will match BMW 340xi and Audi S4 in all key metrics or beat them while still being a more enjoyable daily driver to boot.

dsingerUNC 06-19-2015 12:35 PM

Am I correct that both AIRMATIC and ventilated seats have vanished on the C450 (both were available on the C400)? Seems strange that you can get the ventilated seats on the C300 still but not the C450...

Anyone have any insight?
