Mercedes Me (Connected App)

Anyone got this to fully work on a w205? Just picked my new one up (UK) and when I use the app, that specific service is not listed (the service that does the remote lock/geo fence/gps locator/fuel gauge and other interesting things)...I'm worried the car doesn't support it when the dealer said it would.

Anyone had any luck?

It's not a fully developed system yet but yes it all works (when the comms unit doesn't go off). The dealer needs to register and activate it for your car etc

For this day and age its a terrible app. It's more like a bookmark really.
It works OK, but is laggy.

For my car it took a couple of days to be activated (incl. weekend).
Normally it should take less than a day to be activated by the dealer.

So it seems to be registered, I got the email as soon as the dealer linked my VIN and it seems to be all correct. Took an hour for the 5 default services to activate (see image).

The other sections are blank or shows nothing interesting. Do I really need to pull a fuse? Any other non-intrusive way to reset this? I have contacted MB Customer service yday UK and they have sent it to technical team to look at

Look at pics and let me know what you think. I have not seen my number plate listed anywhere, and I think I did accept T's and C's when I activated

the 5 services

These are the default 5 services seen when car was registered

This bit looks promising but when you click it, it takes you to the Mercedes Me section and only lists the 5 services shown in other image

Not looking like the demo or anything interestinf

I have 11 active services, so probably the missing 6 are the reason why you don't have access to the functionalities?

Activated services: 11 of 11
Accident Recovery
Active
Live Traffic Information
Active
Breakdown Management
Active
Vehicle Tracker
Active
Mercedes-Benz emergency call system
Active
Remote Door Locking and Unlocking
Active
Remote Retrieval of Vehicle Status
Active
Parked Vehicle Locator
Active
Geofencing
Active
Maintenance Management
Active
Telediagnostics
Active

Your dealer needs to activate these services.

This has nothing to do with a fuse. The services are not yet fully activated. Contact your dealer or wait. (the fuse is to spur the comms module into life after a software fault on my car recently)

Connect Me is relatively useless. You can locate your car if you've lost it, you can unlock it, they're possibly useful. The other features are just fluff. You can't even send an address to the Navigation system in the UK (you can in the US). You have to use a computer to send it from google maps, or, buy an iPhone app (third party) to do it in a rather crappy way via apple maps. C'mon MB, we want some more really useful features please.

There was an update last week that enables this for European users. Just go to the Location tab within the app, there's now an extra button for this.

You're right. I take that back then. Though the search function seems a bit limited (it seems you need to input an address rather than say search for something like a shop or restaurant).

Yeah, I'm not saying it's perfect but it's moving in the right direction
For example you can now rearrange or configure the MB apps from within the mercedes me app

Also a usefull function, but all seems a bit slow and laggy also.

I found it more usefull to search for a destination in google Maps on my phone and then use share -> send to car (free app in android, looks like paid app in ios).
In the car you can easilly pick it up with download POI.
Ofcourse also works with google maps on a computer, you can directly click on 'send to car'.

Some features i find handy in the connect me app.
Like preconditioning the car (maybe only for hybrids).
Also to check the status of the battery and fuel.

Well I've just got some bad news from MB call centre,

Technical team came back and said my car does NOT have the services available as it had to be ORDERED at the factory. They say cars are built with basic services or additional services. I never saw any option to have this functionality so nothing like this was ordered, I thought all cars would have it by default.

Anyone think this is BS or dos those who have it, have it ordered specifically?

Car was ordered October 2014 and build date of April 2015 so I'm dazzled

That does not sound right.

I never ordered anything specific. I would go back to them.

You sure? I went thru a new configuration today and I notice there is a REMOTE ONLINE option @ £150 which suggests it's a costed option.

Jolt, what was your order/build and Delivery month?

I am highly annoyed that when I collected it they said we would get the connect me services to then be told by MBUK that my car doesn't have that option. She also said its not a retrospective option that can be "software enabled" but is a factory specific item so cannot be added. Absolutely crap, I'm waiting a call back from my purchasing dealer but she said that she "enabled all of the services that were available"

Anyone else who didn't order/didn't pay for remote online but has it available?

Whatever the cause, blame the dealer and insist on the full job. I asked for nothing other than the usual COMAND spec and have all 11 services.. For what they are worth.

I don't have COMMAND in my car, I just have premium and not premium Plus so do you have COMMAND? Maybe it gets bundled if you have that...

I didn't know the app existed until we picked the car and she said "your car one of the first cars to come with Connect Me and it can lock your car, geo fence" and we were lik oh that's nice but then find I don't have it. The more evidence I get that you all didn't "order a part code" and you got it, more weight I have to get it sorted.

My build date was 8th April.

I do have Premium Plus, so do have Comand Online. I just checked and my build sheet does include 005U Remote Online. Be worth checking yours.

The Remote Online was not a separate option.

You need Premium Plus to get the full online services. They're not included with Premium.

Mercedes connect me services, emergency*call system (eCall) and access to internet sites when vehicle is stationary, plus unrestricted
use of Mercedes-Benz apps (internet-enabled mobile phone required).

Or alternatively you can get the standalone package (05U):

Mercedes connect me (Remote Online)
Onboard use of the remote and location services, e.g. geographic vehicle
monitoring, vehicle location, remote door locking and unlocking, remote
interrogation of vehicle status.
Remote Online subscription services are limited to three years from initial
registration, and can be extended at additional cost

This doesn't seem to work on mine. Is there a web page/link explaining how It works? Or are you talking about POI?

What doesn't work - Trip Transfer, or Mercedes Me?

I'm not aware of a web page explaining it but it seems pretty straightforward...

And how do you receive in in the car: will it pop up in destinations or so in Garmin, or do you need the crappy internet connection, through the bleutooth tethering connecion of your smartphone? Typing in yourself in Garmin seems then a lot faster?

You retrieve it in the car using the POI internet/MB App on the main display.

I have a non-command W205, and only have the 5 options you detailed above.
When I asked the dealer to activate the system, only 1 of the 5 were activated. But I was then able to activate the remaining 4 services.

Also when I check my VIN number it only details the following Remote Me option
06U MBCONNECT - BASIC SERVICES

I will get the Garmin Nav with Mercedes connect me - Remote Online, code 05U. The Remote Online part is a 3 year paid subscription.
