C400 noticeable downshifts to stop

Hey all. New member and MB owner.

Just picked up a C400 last week and have noticed that the downshifts (4-3-2) can be a little rough when slowing to a stop. It doesn't happen all the time and its not terrible but it does make it difficult to decelerate smoothly.

I also occasionally get a very little rattle when accelerating (2-3-4). It's a very subtle noise, the radio & climate control need to be off for it to be heard.

I'm still in the break in period (~600 km on the odometer) so I've really only driven the car in ECO or Comfort.

Is this rattle & downshift behavior normal?

Apologies if this has been covered already. I've done a search and most seem to talk about issues on the C300 and not the C400.

Any feedback/insight is appreciated.

Thanks

I've never noticed any harshness in the downshifting. I've never driven in ECO and I'm really only in Comfort for very short trips or long road trips...I'm usually in sport. I'll try to remember to take note the next time I'm out and let you know if I notice anything.

Mine does it all the time. It has been noted on some reviews. It's not what I expected out of this car, otherwise I love it.

I only get 'hard' downshifts in Sport+ to be honest. I drive in Comfort about 90% of the time, ECO when I'm on a long haul, or Sport + when I'm just tooling around in the backroads between towns.

This has happened to me once or twice. I'm guessing a software update down the road will address it.

Thanks for the feedback all.

I have heard that a software update might be released in the fall. The downshift really isn't that bad...just not very smooth at times. Guess I'll wait for the new software and see what happens.
