Gear **** sound when in Sport+ mode
Title : "Gear change sound when in Sport+ mode". I'm not sure what the **** are for.
I'm noticing a "pop" sound when the gears change, while pushing the car for acceleration in Sport+ mode (or maybe even in Sport, I just happen to have been on Sport+).
I've had the car for around 3 weeks now ( ~1000 km total on the car) so It's fairly new and I haven't noticed that sound before (maybe due to music, etc.)
it sounds "cool" but I just want to make sure that it's normal. The weather is getting colder, anything to do with that?
Thanks

Most likely the pop sound you hear is from the exhaust - in sport+ that it is a "programmed" sound that emulates from exhaust to sound like the traditional a "heel-toe shift"...a throw back to manual days.

I think mine does what you are talking about. The problem is the cars do not all do it. I have a 2016 base model loaner and the engine sounds voracious compared to my 2015 and there is no throttle blip when changing gears. It is a smoother driving car and a sportier sensation than my car which has the blip which I have not heard on any other car. I am not convinced this is normal operation after driving the loaner. The 2016 seems to hold the gear longer and the upshifting is just smoother--it goes all the way to redline and then smoothly upshifts. Could not reproduce the blip no matter how I tried. The 2016 sounds awesome too--like a growl. My 2015 just has that strange blip and shifts seems to snap off too soon.

That sound is normal, I also have a 2015 C300 4matic and like you I only hear it and sport+ mode. However, I actually love that pop sound as it seems to add something to the experience for me. But it's nothing I'd worry about.

I actually haven't been able to reproduce the sound whenever I want. On what exact occasions does it occur? Because a lot of times the gear changes happen in sport+ with no sound also.

I find it most often in Sport+ under full throttle, but even then it's not always consistent. In my C250 though it's usually a pretty consistent thing so I'm not sure if MB intentionally changed it or if it's some type of "glitch".

It seems to produce the sound when the engine is under full boost. If I want to hear it I'll put it in sport+ then manual mode with the paddle shifters. Usually it will make the sound between 3500-5000 rpm under acceleration.

2015 C300 4Matic Luxury with Sport pretensions
My U.S. 2015 C300 4Matic Luxury model does it in Sport+. It does not sound like a "pop," more like a proper "rap-p-p." I didn't know it was fake; now I can't brag about it.
