c450 order in southern CA
I originally posted this on the c450 sport discussion thread but thought it might be better to start a new one instead.
I'm in southern california. I tried to place an order for a c450 over the weekend and was told that my order would be considered a MY 2017 c43. I've also noticed that the money factor on leases for the c450 has gone down. I have a few concerns about this...
1) Have they stopped taking orders for 2016 c450?
2) Is it possible that as early as now, and its just February, that an order placed which usually takes 3 months to build, would already be considered MY2017?
3) would that also mean that the money factor on a lease would go up again, since it'll be considered as a "newly" released model (c43)?
Any info/input would be appreciated, thanks!

I ordered a 16 C450 2 weeks ago in NY. At the time, my dealer wasn't even familiar with the 43 name change. My car is supposed to be here in March.

2) possible. My 2015 C400 had a build date of July 2014.
3. everything resets. New MF (overall for all AMG's)
Hope that helps. I think the C43's will be a better car though.

I was in the market and my rep at FJ in Newport told me that they had stopped taking orders. The MF was lowered to reflect the clearance of the C450's.

I work at a dealer in Hawaii and I have c450 that's being built in may that are 2016 and stil fully changeable. As far as the c43 vs the c450 from what I have been told it is just a badge change, I personally like c450 vs c43.. to me people are going to think u are saying you have a c63 and might think you are trying to fake the funk.

Just look at their website inventory Keyes has more cars then FJ... and also claim from data from MBUSA that they sell the most.

Hang on... This is fun. Keyes website claims they are #1 dealer in Los Angeles County based on sales in 2014. FJ is in Orange County. Keyes wouldn't limit their claim to LA County if they sold more cars.
Again, for fun only, really has no bearing on anything important.

While it's most likely from a pure technical standpoint a Badge change, there will almost certainly be some subtle changes all around that will be updated to either a newer part or a very subtle adjustment to whats included in an option or option package. It's almost unheard of for a manufacturer to NOT change ANYTHING from one model year to another.
Add to that some global uncertainly and slowing vehicle sales and I would expect to see some options integrated into packages and some possible feature enhancements that don't necessarily affect vehicle performance or ratings. It's not going to be faster, not better mileage, that sort of thing.
but, they MIGHT put in a 4G hotspot and they MIGHT integrate carplay as standard.
