New C450 Owner with questions

Just purchased the C450 and love the performance and the car overall. I replaced my 2014 Porsche Cayenne with the MB. I've had it less than a week and have a couple of issues. It's currently in the shop with 200 miles on the odometer. The first issue was a serious rattle in the headliner above the drivers seat. The second is that the inside rear view mirror vibrates and distorts the view of vehicles behind me. The dealer just called and said the rattle was fixed and that the vibration was normal and that it occurred on another C class they drove. Has anybody else experienced this vibration and distorted view from the mirror? Maybe I expect too much from a 70k car, but I never had an issue with my Porsche. BTW, this is my first MB.

Thanks for any input...

I have 1600 miles. My mirror has never vibrated, and is dead steady.

So I don't know if I should be saying this but mine only vibrates over 130 miles an hour. If you ask where I'm going that fast I won't have a responsible answer so don't.

I guess you won't have to worry too much about cars in the rear mirror with 130mph

I feel your pain, being so speed-limited, but that is the limiter taking over. All non-AMG MB's in the US are limited to 215KPH, or about 133 MPH.

I think this must be due to something like the speed rating of the tires shipped standard on the car, as I really cannot fathom some government official deciding that we should be allowed to drive 133 MPH, but not 150.

I'll bet the tuners have a solution to the problem, though. . .

The oe tune removed the limiter

So, I too have seen this vibration at speed on the highway. Since the speed is only about 80-85 currently while I'm still breaking it in.

I think it's more related to the tires (which aren't that great, too firm, run-flat PZERO's) and the suspension. When the highway is concrete, I get some very subtle feedback and I think the firmness of the rear view mirror to the windscreen one can see some again subtle vibration. Not really much one can do I think.

Mine is dead steady up to 90, and I've gone no faster. Our local highways are grooved, crap.

Just got the car back from the dealer. Rattle in headliner was fixed. Turned out to be two fasteners that were not clipped. As far as the mirror, they had to order a part. Hopefully this fixes the vibration. Also had the windows tinted which really adds to the look.
