hey guys I'm at the dealership getting the phone integration stuff installed. They say that they don't know for sure if its going to work but they are saying that cost is going to be about 135 in labor plus the cost of the part. Will let you know what I pay when I'm done and if it does in fact work.

Just got a call back from my dealership they are saying that it's a no go on the iPhone intergration they stated that the issue is mainly because when they submit the information over to Mercedes corporate for the correct coding the mercedes corporate response denied the request

Nice effort, but the problem preventing CarPlay implementation in the 2015-2017 W205 is the hardware. I'm not sure they could develop a retrofit if they wanted to.

A hundred signatures from various countries will accomplish nothing as it puts no real pressure on the MB division in your country.
If MB USA or MB Canada saw several thousand signatures from US or Canadian customers stating they will never trust MB again and will shop elsewhere then there is a chance 'maybe'.

In my previous car (2010 A4 B8) it was a dream to have even USB (I did upgrade to Audi Music Interface with Ipod 30pin adapter - I used it once to test and never again) and other future. I supposed that most of the future which W205 has is still extra paid with Audi options. The only thing what was nice with Audi it was VCDS which you could upgrade and code extra futures - in MB with STAR and Xentia is another galactic. And this is why I bought already equipped car.

I think that we can pressure them with the support of this community and social media.
We can try to contact influencers on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook and ask them to support their audience.
I am sure a lot of W205 owners don't even know that this is a possibility

If you all carefully observe the interior of each of these listed vehicles -
2016 A-Class
2016 B-Class
2016 CLA-Class
2016 CLS-Class
2016 E-Class Cabriolet
2016 E-Class Coupe
2016 GLA-Class
2016 GLE-Class
You will find that all of these use previous generation COMAND NTG5*1 system. This system has a numeric keypad and only a rotational knob to control the infotainment system.
The two glaring omissions in the aforementioned list are 2016 C-Class and 2016 S-Class, both of which use the most latest iteration, COMAND NTG5*2 system. This latest COMAND system gets rid of the numeric keypad and adds a touch pad. See attachment for distinction between COMAND NTG5 systems.
I have been doing a lot of research on this, there are some folks on russian fora who have retrofitted Carplay firmware, that has been released for the aforementioned vehicles, on some older vehicles that were shipped with COMAND NTG5*1 hardware. This clearly proves that once NTG5*2 firmware with Carplay comes out (possibly on 2017 E-Class), it can definitely be flashed on to any of the vehicles with NTG5*2 hardware including W205 cars.
Now I truly hope it doesn't come down to doing all the dirty coding and flashing work. I hope Mercedes takes care of its customers and just issues a software update for all of us and prove that they are "Best or Nothing".

Both the W222 S and W205 C got NTG 5.2, which for whatever reason didn't include CarPlay support. If I had to guess it's because S Class buyers don't want it or care about it and the C Class got stuck with it, even though those buyers actually do want it.
