Someone Scratched My Car :(
I come to my car from work and this is what I'm greeted with. I have no idea if it was on purpose or what caused the scratch. Key maybe? There are no other scratches like that anywhere else on my car that I have seen. It's deep and really sticks out on black.
I'm not sure how much it's going to cost to get that repaired, but I'm expecting it would cost several hundred dollars.

Given your car color. It is an easy match. I had a GL that got keyed. Dealer body shop that also does Rolls and Bentley fixed it. Never new it happened. The car was Dark Green almost black metallic.

Bummer! .. but as ^ said, luckily you have the non metallic paint by looks of it, which means spot repairs are easily possible and shouldn't cost you much.

Sorry to hear. Someone did that to my cayman and scratched across 2 panels past the undercoat. That meant the body shop had to blend in 1 side of the car. Some people are just idiots with no common decency. Having said that. the shop did an excellent job and could not tell after the work was done.

I spoke with my father regarding the issue and he said that the problem can just be fixed DIY with stuff from an auto store or shop. He couldn't tell me what it was, but I'm not really sure if it's possible. I would prefer to get a professional to do it and not my dad, who tends to just fix things up to the point where it's "good enough" and not fully repair things.
I do have the nonmetallic black paint.

Find a professional detail shop. I myself just finished wet sanding and polishing out some scratches on my E350 - one over 2 feet long. Depending on how deep, some can be wet sanded and polished.

Anyway, don't panic, this can be fixed quite easily. You need to get a product like "Safe-cut" (cutting agent applied directly to the paintwork with a cloth), which will allow the uppermost paint molecules to move, which will allow a scratch like that to "polish out". Once you treat it, polish it (with actual car polish), and wax it, the work done will last a lifetime. If the gouge is deep, then you could always apply a touch up paint first, and then once dried, attack it with the safe-cut type product. Do NOT get it resprayed, if you can help it, as the paint will never match, and the repair will therefore be that much more obvious!
Also, speak to your insurance company, as they will undoubtedly pay for repairs. They are self-serving idiots, but when you need them, they do tend to come through eventually!

Yes you need to protect the clear coat with something (wax, sealant), but the lighter colors like iridium silver or white will never shine like the darker colors.
On the plus side though, the lighter colors won't show swirl marks like the darker colors do.
