Best Car Sun Shade?

As you guys probably already guessed I just got a C450 that's why I'm asking a ton of questions lol.

I'm looking for a good sun shade that I know will fit the front wind shield snug since it gets terribly hot where I live and I'm trying to keep the car as cool as I can. Has anyone found a really snug fitting one? Can't seem to find any custom cut ones online. Anyone else have luck?

Oh and what do you guys use to wipe the interior? Was thinking a duster and some water but has anyone found another solution that works without the streaks and scents?

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on my interior. It acts as an spf40 for the cars finishes. Keeps finishes from cracking. I also use it on all my rubber window and door seals.
Enjoy your new ride!!!!

Cool thanks guys. Covercraft eh? Ok so I found the one sunscreen it's called UVS100 custom... is that the one you use? How does it fit? Is it snug? When it takes me to make and model of car it won't list C450 only the CLA's and CLS's and all the others.

Have you checked at your dealer?
This way you can see if it fits as desired....

What do you mean exactly? If I ask if cover craft products fit I doubt they will know. So you're saying I should ask which fit?

Just a simple question at parts department: ask for windshield screen for the model/year of your car.
You can check the fit at the spot And decide if you want it, or not....
Hope this helps

I use the silver bubble textured sun shades you get in most automart stores.. I got the "large" and it over laps the A pillar by a few inches and stays put..
When not in use its folded down the tunnel side of the passeneger seat..

Also use 303 protectant on the dash top.
The casr had Perma-guard applied when new to the entire interior
It also has full tint UVA UVB reflective

So arguably its over kill.. but in Queensland Australia the sun is pretty intense..

Alright sounds good I'll look into that thanks. And you can never have too much to protect the car. I do have that wood grain interior are those vinyl/rubber dressings ok for that? Or should I specifically use a wood polisher.

My moto for sunshades is like the moto for cameras...the best camera you have, is the one you have with you. The best sunshade, is the one you will actually use. So if its a pain to unfold and refold and store it etc, you won't ever use it. So I always used this one. http://www.improvementscatalog.com/r...un-shade/10242

Nice pick haven't seen these used in a while but you're right it's convenient because it's attached so you'll never forget to use it and it's a seamless movement every time you park. Reminds me of that one a long time ago that use to roll through the windshield my grand parents use to use. Hmm have to give this some more though thanks for the response.

The guy with the cover craft did you ever get my last question?

covercraft not for 16 C300

i went looking for the covercraft and found a UVS100 sunshield, but as OP mentioned did not list any '16 C-Class cars, so I emailed covercraft and here is the conversation

Me: I tried to buy your UVS100 custom sunshade, but my car is not listed. I have a Mercedes-Benz 2016 C300 Base Sedan. Do you have a sunshade that will fit this car or do you have plans to add it to your list of cars?

Reply: I'm sorry, our designers have it on their list and will be patterning it soon. It may be at least 6 weeks.

So not sure what model or year of car poster used that is saying covercraft fits, but it isn't a 16 C300.

Lol well I'm glad I didn't follow Mike's advice about buying it and not looking back haha. Yeah I have a 16 C450 so probably won't fit either... well that sucks. Let me e-mail them and see what kind of response I get but to be honest they probably don't know because I would imagine it fits the same on all W205 models.

Well I was very impatient and had ordered one from Amazon wasn't sure if it was going to fit or not but it's called CoverKing and it fits like a charm, it's that roll up kind so I'm sure the longevity is going to be terrible but using it today and I have to say its really good.

Did you buy it online? and if so what car model and year did you use? Or did you just find it in an automotive store?

Yes, on-line. I used the 2015 C Class 4matic. It's the same windshield as my 2016. Fits nicely and doesn't look like a rolled up newspaper.

Question The W205 (2015-16) C-Class is not listed for the improvementscatalog.com sunshade

Same situation with the improvementscatalog.com item recommended by banjeman. The W205 (2015-16) C-Class is not listed. Correct fit will be all-important with this sunshade, because it is attached to the passenger-side A-pillar. The driver pulls the accordion-pleated shade across and clips it to latches attached to the driver-side A-pillar. It is spring-loaded, so upon release, it retracts back to the passenger-side. Banjeman, have you actually used this system, parhaps on a previous car? I have not seen such a sunshade concept before. It will please many, especially those making many stops during a day's work. Now, those drivers are faced with a choice of struggling with regular sunshades or leaving their interior unprotected during each stop.

gfmohn,
you have me mixed up with Sr8dn he is the one that recommended the accordion shade, I was referencing the CoverCraft shade suggested by Mike. I have not used anything like the accordion style shade, but I do have something similar coming from eclipse sunshade (it meets in the middle) for my Wife's Murano.
I have got her lots of sunshades that require you to place in/out and they tend to just lay in the back seat because she doesn't like messing with getting them out and putting them on, so I figure why not give it a shot.

Cool thanks for the information, as I think that is the shade I want for my car, my car rarely sits in the sun, but being in Texas and black interior, when it is it sux.

I used it on my E46 M3. I'm sure they have the size, just not the listed fitment. Just measure the height of your windshield and take off maybe 2 inches (for a cushion at the top and bottom) and buy that size. They aren't specially made for a vehicle, just posted length, like windshield wipers.

I ended up just going with this CoverKing one I found on Amazon... it fits really well it's the roll up kind but I don't mind it at all gets the job done and I'm amazed how much heat it keeps out. I never got that e-mail back from CoverCraft so I just abandoned that idea may go to them in the future if they ever update their site to ensure it will be a custom fit for my model. Thanks to Mike and all for the good info.

Has anyone tried the Weathershield sunshade? I think their floor liners are the best on the market (better even than the OEM winter mats, sorry). So I am considering the Weathershield sunshade. They do have one specific to my 2016 C Class. A bit pricey though, and it's the rollup kind.

I looked at the CoverKing, but didn't like the logo on the front.
