Extended Warranty questions
Hey Guys,
I was talking to a Benz dealer sales rep this morning regarding a 2015 C300 that has 23,000 miles on it.
The sales person told me the warranty started 12/27/2014 so does that mean its 4 years 50k? so it would end 12/27/2018 or 27k?
And the extended warranty offering starts the day I buy the car and is 72 months and 75k miles with a $500 deductible. Total cost of this extended warranty is $3400.
I thought there was an extended warranty offering through MB that was unlimited miles for a certain number of years and started at the end of the factory warranty?
Am I mistaken?

Thanks I have sent an email to the sales rep asking why the car doesn't have a CPO warranty option.
See what they come back with.

This was the reply from the Sales Person and I will probably stay away from this one even though it is clean and drives amazing.
"This was a rental vehicle and as such, we cannot certify it. However, certifying the vehicle would add the same value to the car's price as the extended warranty does in this instance."

Yeah I would stay away from that one. You should ask how does a mercedes benz qualify to be consider CPO. Then you can better understand how meticulously their certified Mechanics go over a vehicle they have labeled CPO. Now from my understanding, the unlimited miles warranty should still be going on until the summer event is over. If I'm correct, they convert the remaining new car warranty to unlimited miles, plus if the vehicle is CPO you get another year with unlimited miles. Once the new car warranty has expired, then the CPO WARRANTY starts, if I had an extended warranty then that warranty would start once the CPO WARRANTY expires. If you end up buying a Vehicle from mercedes benz, then let me inform you that the prices on all the warranties (tire, interior, manufacture) are all negotiable. I was quoted around 2300 for the 2 year extended warranty, so be sure to talk them down.

I would walk away the minute I heard "rental".
The problem with CPO vs extended warranty is the latter is more like an insurance product and they will fight and looks for every possible way to skip paying out.
