Any recent reports on best new tires to replace these POS OE Pirellis? I'm at the 10K mark, front edges are getting close to bald, centers are probably 3.5-4mm

Guys, my Conti 19 SSR wore very fast. Was thinking of buying Michelin Super Sports but then my parts guy said he could get the next gen of the MPSS for the same price. The next gen is the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. They dropped the word super but apparently it is an improved version of the MPSS. Bit quieter, bit more comfortable, bit more tread life and they have this new velvet side walls that look amazing.
So far, the ride comfort and noise are night and day better versus the contisportcontact runflats. I have ordered slime and a compressor.
Very sharp looking tire. Here they are in their glory:

Have you had the SS's before? If so, any thoughts on comparison yet?
I'm about to pull the trigger on tires between now an Monday and I'm wondering if the new 4S's are really worth the extra $100

No have not had SS in the past but for the look alone I would pay the extra $100 for a set. The velvet background makes the Michelin lettering pop.

[QUOTE=Mr. J;7157037]I feel your pain brother. About a week after I bought a brand set of AS3+ my wife hit a deep pothole an ripped the sidewall on one of them.[/QUOTE
I'm curious about the tire size you choose when you change the new set of tires.Do you use the same size for the front and rear or just follow what the manufacturer's setup.
