collision prevention assist randomly going off
does anyone else have an issue where the collision prevention assist randomly goes off when nothings in front of you? whys this happening?

yup pretty common

happens usually at same place/intersection routinely

the system isn't perfect ... it is processing all the data in the environment and sometimes incorrectly alerts you

happens on both my 2014 and my dads 2016 and my previous two 2014's

Worry only if it slams on the brakes without reason. Beeping is just the system making a mistake.

Yep. Sometimes it'll randomly beep.

Other times, it might just be leaves or bugs/birds?

If the pavement is uneven... and at one point your car points toward the ground... it may set off the warning... but it should not activate the CPA+ and hit brakes to stop... just a warning...

Uneven? The pavement would need to have 3 foot swells to set off the warning.

I don't know about Oklahoma, but there is lot's of hills, zigzag roads, up and downs in LA... where the car is pointing toward the pavement within a few hundreds of feet...

It happens to me sometimes, but is very rare. It happened a lot more when I made my x-country trip. Even the manual warns about it.
