Does anybody NOT have the 1-2-3 rough shift issue?

Well, I understand, but I'm retired. I got one corrected with amazing results. I agree, it is totally unacceptable.

Dealer called today, data sent to MB technical was returned with a 'normal' verdict and said normal operation, no further action can be taken.

im not wasting any more time on this farce.

Sad. I'm informed it never returns a fault or error code, thus your result. The data stream looks ordinary to all but the few who know how to diagnose and fix it. I suggest you email Ronnie Loo at Thornhill Mercedes in Canada, a company store, and ask for help.

Latest software has resolved mine largely. Still the odd lumpy shift but mostly smooth in fact 1-2 is seamless now, just 2-3 slightly snatchy on occasion. Massive improvement considering it's quite an old box.

Yes. Just short of selling it... traded it in and got a new one with the 9 speed transmission.
Sorry to disappoint, but there's no fix and there won't be one unless some hackers crack the code open and fix it the non-orthodox way. There's little hope for that.

Problem is that my car has the 9 speed and exhibits the exact same problems. Thinking of trying to swap lease and I’ve only had it a few months.

Very frustrating.

Thanks.

Go for a test drive in a new 2019 GLE and if it shifts properly then tell the dealer that you want your car to shift as smooth as the demo. If they can't fix it then there's something physically wrong with your transmission.

Thanks but I do have a new 2019 GLE 400 and unfortunately they no longer make this model. I can check out out other cars with the 9 speed though.

I went from a 2014 with the 7G that I thought was crap to a 2018 with the 9G and it's still crap and maybe even slightly worse than my previous car. This is probably my last Benz because of the transmission behavior. Very frustrating.

Since yours is new (2019) does none of the nearby dealers have a similar one left in stock?
You need to find a car just like yours and show them that it shifts properly. Other cars with the 9G will not cut it as their excuse will be "...but that's a different car/model with different specs..."

Yes this problem is driving me crazy!! I’m actually going to try SwapaLease. I’m at that point now. Sadly, I don’t have think any dealer is going to fix it (assuming it can be fixed) and I simply cannot live with it.

If a software update and adaptation doesn't fix it then you have to get them to admit that there's an issue with the transmission. If they don't then ask them to show you that other GLEs with the same transmission shift just as crappy as yours.

I had a 2016 C300 (bought new) with this issue. I had the dealership do the transmission re-set about a month after I bought it, and they also told me that for the first week or so after the re-set to drive it like I stole it. That way the car "learns" faster shifts. I don't know if this was bs or not. The car shifts did improve noticeably, but not significantly. I just lived with it for 3 years, and didn't pay it much mind after a while. I recently bought a 2019 C300. On the test drive, I could not believe the difference in shifting, and now that I own it, and have driven it in different conditions, it's like night-and-day from the 2016 for shifting. So MB must have fixed whatever the problem was. It now shifts as smooth as Corinthian leather (which it doesn't come with unfortunately).

My 15 RWD has no rough shifting.
In Sport+ or Individual (manual) it's firmer, but not what I'd call rough.

About the only times I get an odd shift, is if I have it in manual & decelerating, and I hit a downshift when it's also automatically downshifting due to speed & it interprets it as a request for 2 shifts; or at very low speeds in 2nd, and downshift to 1st it can be a bit rough.

Otherwise, no shifting oddities here, other than the occasional quick/short shift 1-2-3 at light throttle.

Same issue 2015 C300

Hello, I am really glad that I found this topic. I knew there should be other people experience the same issue as mine. I purchased certified pre-owned 2015 c300 6 MONTH AGO _ 33.000 millages. from Fletcher jones Newport beach california. after 2 month car, I noticed the car is ****ting very rough from 1-2 and 2-3. went to dealership and dealership tested the car and they said it is normal. it just not normal and I know it after 3 attempts dealer said the same thing. this is "Normal". Later I went to another dealer in California they tested the car and they said this is not normal. they changed the valve gasket in transmission and told me to drive 1000 mile to get this adapt. now its been the 1000 mile and it is still same I just don't even like driving sometimes. the service advisor from 1st dealer even told me this is "common issue " for this year. and I was like, are you serious right now ?! I called mbusa told them everything they will call me this Wednesday and will see what is going to happen. According to Lemon Law in california I have right to get my money back or replace the car. 4th fixing attempts and still the same issue they can not fix it. because it is a defect. they chose to say "common issue " I also talked to Lemon Law attorney regarding this issue and they are ready to have this case I am just wondering what will mbusa do about it. I would like to get your opinion as well. I know some people experiencing the same thing. I will try to update my post.

THANX

So far, I have not seen anyone answer the question, "Does anybody NOT have the 1-2-3 rough shift issue?" in the affirmative. That is, in this thread or other threads, NOBODY has claimed to have a 2015 C300 that shifts smoothly. That is why the honest dealers all say that the jerks are normal. I have been driving my 2015 C300 since 02/15. I am so used to it that it doesn't bother me. I do the transmission resets every so often. If you can't accept it, you have to get rid of your car and get another marque or another MY. There is no fixing the "problem"; it is basic to the 2015 C300.
