Tire pop noise at 65mph - Loaner
I have a dealership loaner and was driving down the road and heard a loud pop.
The tire blew out and went town to zero PSI. I didn't hit anything at all. what would cause this tire to blow out and lose pressure so quick ? Without looking they said it was a nail and that they were going to charge me. Sounds like a defective tire or pre existing condition. Thoughts? |
The run flats, especially 19", seem to suffer a lot of sidewall ruptures from minor impacts that probably wouldn't have affected a conventional tire.

If if that's the case; should I be responsible for replacement?

You hit something, even if you didn't see it.
As mike said, these tires are easy to break, especially with such short sidewalls on such a heavy car. If you are driving your car and the tire blows, aren't you responsible? |
