Performance upgrades for C300 with 2l 4cyl?
Hi!
I just bought a C300 on Saturday and want to know of any performance upgrades (chips, handling etc) that are available and tested? The car is quick already but I wanted to see if I could juice out a little more.

Dinantronics boost controller
installed the dinan dinatronics boost controller two weeks ago, and it for sure gives the car a little extra kick. Can't go wrong with the price either

I’ve had the Dinan Sportronic chip on both my C300 and my 430i, and the 430 now has the JB4. With the Dinan you’re never quite sure it’s doing anything other than making your wallet a little lighter. No such doubts with the JB4. It’ll scare the **** out of you the first time you let it off the chain.

Jb4
Don’t waste your money on the jb4 for the c300
i just dropped over 750$ to buy a jb4 beta with the Bluetooth setup and it doesn’t make any more power than stock really
on the dyno it showed a 6hp increase over stock
even if it was 20-30hp you really can’t feel that much of a difference..the reason why it really doesn’t work (and this is probably the same for the Dinan piggyback) is that it just tricks the ecu into allowing a couple extra lbs of boost to sneak through ..but since the ecu isn’t aware of the boost I’m told that it will pull back the power/timing so it ends up not really making any more power ..I’m not sure of the exact details but Rob at AMR tried explaining it to me ..either way ..it doesn’t make any power ..so I just gave it away
the best bang for the buck is to have an ecu reprogram..not a piggyback
AMR makes handheld controllers that can get you an easy 40-50hp and for less money than the jb4
I ended up doing a big turbo upgrade (turbokits.com) with the armytrix valvetronic exhaust and Catless downpipe with an AEM meth injection kit ..all in that setup costs about 8-9k with tuning etc
but it still only gets you to 300hp at the wheels ..which is a lot better than the stock 190hp at the wheels stock
torque is almost double stock though so it pulls very hard ..still a ton of work to get to this point. This big turbo setup increases the boost from the 12-13lbs stock to a solid 25lbs
if you’re looking for power ..sell the c300 and a c450/43 and call it a day
just my $.02

Do sprint boosters still exist? I'd try that.

I’m guessing the OP isn’t up for bolt-on stuff and an ECU flash, just looking for a little more fun than stock.
On the BMW at least the JB4 is able to manage a f-ton of parameters. Here's a log file. I don't know what half that stuff means but clearly it's more than just a boost controller. On this run I think I was on Map 5 and running 40% E85.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but this is not typical for our customers. We have hundreds of happy customers out there with our stage 1 and JB4 tuners on the C300 platform. I hope you sent our support staff datalogs to review so we could look them over before moving on.
For most customers on pump gas or mild ethanol mixtures the JB4 is the way to go as for about half the price of a flash handheld you get similar gains and the tuner is not VIN locked and can be resold later. For those of you looking to do turbo upgrades and beyond, the JB4 can still be used to do custom tuning over a flash map if necessary as well, plus all of the JB4's datalogging features, etc.

Not to mention kissing any warranty and the resale value goodbye with the ECU flash, turbo and catless downpipe. Did BMS sell Beta JB4s for $750 for the w205? Aren’t Betas usually given away as a way to field test?

Brabus Power Box
Hi, I am based in Lebanon and my car is German. I installed Brabus Power Box on my Car. Www.brabus.com. I have to say I felt enormous change in its responsiveness, aggressivity and power. Its not cheap but its worth it. I also installed Armytrix exhaust sytem with its down pipe. You need to contact your local Brabus dealer for the price as for some reason they don't mention it online. My Brabus dealer installed it for free. Now I am going for Racechip Pedal Box XLR (please see attached picture), a friend of mine installed it. He realized a great addition in throtle response.

One thing I will say about Burger is that their customer service is top notch. If a unit is under performing, definitely reach out, and they will work with you. I don’t have first hand experience with the JB4 on my C300, but had one on a Giulia Ti, and then my Giulia Quadrifoglio. The Ti dropped .3 0-60, and the Quad dropped .2 0-60. Obviously different platforms will respond differently though.
