Question about M274 engine differences
 

Hello mates, how are you? I hope you are all fine.

I was wondering if someone knows the actual hardware differences of the M274 engine in the 135kw compared to the 155kw versions... or is it all a software thing?

About the transmission, is it me? Or the transmission seems to have a dual clutch and not a torque converter... when accelerating in 2nd gear and low revs, it just feels as if a clutch was engaging.

From what I have read on the forum, the horsepower difference is from tuning rather than components.

I too have read power is ecu/mapping but can't be 100% on that. if I keep mine it's getting a remap.

gearbox is old school slushbox (both 7g and 9g) with a lockup clutch (hence you hear lots of people moan like me about jerky engagement).

What about 180kw and 135kw versions? Are there also the main difference is tune? Or parts differs as well?
