First, read your Mercedes warranty: in substance, Mercedes has no liability for misuse or abuse, so it must show first, a modification, and secondly, that modification resulted in abuse or misuse, not just a change.
Best guess from Dinan is that the crackle remains since that programming isn't modified, but hey, it's iOS controlled, so just turn it off.

Exactly right, as in to ask for production....the sole, express or implied rational or logical limit of my efforts.
Any other construction is absurd.

The problem lies entirely in your own mind: you are far too quick to infer the absurd or "assume."
Guys, before you promote group buys in the future, remember this absurd construction in which you are assumed to have complete knowledge of the specs and get 'worked up" over someone irrationally imputing such too you.
As for the generalized, absurd assumption that I don't or didn't understand the product, it was only relevant to me as an iPhone user that it work by IOS and to imply that I have imperfect knowledge or should not feel "comfortable" is nothing short of silly and absurd. Customarily, guys post to stir up interest in a group buy either for a better price or to create a market so sellers respond-rationally, it does not follow from this that the first to post has complete knowledge of the specs or some interest in the product beyond buying it it. All other inferences are Irrational and without factual bases, and perhaps "ideations".
I merely followed custom, and a retail seller responded. I was able to buy the chip, understanding less than all of its specifications (all are yet unpublished by Dinan), without joining a group.
Any other assumption is nuts.
If this is "odd" in some way, so be it, but from my perspective there isn't much risk in rolling the dice over $300 from a company with Dinan's vast reputation in this field.

The Dinan unit is Bluetooth controlled and is supported across both Android and IOS.

This is the link to the Dinan Sport instructions. Note #8 specifically mentions that Android and IOS are both supported. You also have to input the MAC ID into the app for security which is great especially considering how much car kit manufacturers completely ignore how easy it is to hack BT devices.

Ok ok , calm down everyone ! We're suffering from a "performance emergency " here 
im sure Dinan is waiting on some feedback from Wayne in terms of drivability and to make sure all is good on the 3.0L variants before they start shipping the initial orders to auto talent , who is organizing the buy . If you have the 400/450 and most likely the C43 variant "engine" family regardless of what vehicle platform you drive this unit will work for you !! Yes it's IOS and android comptible as well for the Bluetooth control . Be patient , I'm sure they will be shipping them soon

Ah, I just got word on the chip from China. The chip is made by Hu Phlung Dung industries, but nothing yet on the source code.

Flash: project engineer Won Hung Lo advises a new Spec! For another $300, you can get a direct injection tank, which is driven by the chip, that dumps colored oil into the exhaust manifold! When the exhaust farts, the chip opens red, white and blue oil tanks, in time to the farts, which produces alternating red, white and blue clouds. A bit showy, I know, but as the group buy leader, I get this stuff first!
