Is oil separator/ oil catch can necessary?
I haven't been able to find any discussion on whether an air oil separator is necessary for these cars? Particularly mine a C300 with m274 engine. Would like to know if anybody has experience with oil in the intake or throttle body? If so, I think we could certainly benefit from an oil separator.

It seems there is a part for it from stock for the W204 m272 engines. I wonder if any of the W205 engines have a similar part?

Interesting. Definitely something to keep an eye on. If anybody takes the intake off for some reason, snap a picture of the back of the intake valves and report mileage.

I have found oil separators for the C300 online but I can't find installation directions. I have a catch can on my C7 corvette and separate a few tablespoons of oil between oil changes. I don't know if separating this small amount of oil will actually add to the life of the engine (e.g., valves). The C7 installation is extremely easy. It uses an existing bolt to attach the catch can to the frame and rerouting 2 or 3 hoses depending on the catch can model used. I keep searching online for which lines need to be rerouted on the C300 and if a 3rd line needs to be installed for the turbo.

After reading a lot on line , the nasty stuff that is being put back through the throttle body is definately not good .

I take it to the drag strip now and then for fun .
