When you search on the forum you will find some threads about it.
If you now hava a closed start (radar of driving assistance package behave it) you cannot install the illuminated star.
Also i would guess there is some installation document coming with the new one.

No offense to the forum but I have had almost zero success in finding useful DIYs on here as compared to the forums of other brands.

I wrote up a as detailed as I could DIY for swapping out a front grill from oem to diamond and people didn’t even think anything of that. Anyway good luck finding this DIY as I have been looking for one since the past 4 weeks and my star is just sitting in my car :)

There are instructions in this forum but you actually have to look for them under search illuminated star instructions. It is simple 1. twist off old star by twisting to left. if it does not come off then you cannot install a different star. One wire goes to ground and the other needs to go to fuse 23 under hood on drivers side of car on a E350 W212. It is fuse for the interior accessories. Or you can pay about $100 and have it installed at a local audio shop.

Yes and those instructions are not even the clearest. Check out the DIY for front bumper removal for w205 and you will know what I am talking about. Anyway like I said no offense to anyone or this forum but just lacks luster and the engagement from members as compared to the other forums.

Anyway I have no freakin clue as to what wiring goes where for the star that I have bought and I guess I won’t be buying from that seller as they also don’t provide any instructions at all for their product which is just the base with the LEDs for the w205. I have also noticed that the instructions for w212, CLA, w205 are different!

Lol ok thanks! Been around enough to do all the research and car savvy enough to figure things out myself but since it is electrical stuff, I ain’t messing around without instructions. Thanks for the suggestion anyway!
