VR Piggy Back Tuned C450 Before and After
Recently I picked up a C450 and while it's quick, I wanted more from it. As a result, I picked up a Vivid Racing plug-and-play piggy back tune (see link for before and after video).
The most obvious thing to mention is the power. The increase is significant and wakens up the car with some extra speed, getting the car to the monstrously annoying electronic limit of 130 mph a bit faster.
While power is a big factor, for me the greatest change of note was the signature Mercedes burble when lifting off the throttle disappeared altogether for about a month before returning in a far more muted fashion in relation to before the tune. So when lifting off the throttle the burble only happens within a couple hundred RPM's of 3k. To me it was a hugely disappointing trade off, but the speed gain is enough to offset it. Not to mention the installation is relatively simple and to get extra horsepower from a little metal box is pretty neat.
Another thing that changed was the sound as after the tune the car is a bit throatier than before, however, I didn't notice the difference until playing it back on video.
