Navigation Tip

Guys got a great tip for you Mercedes owners related to the Nav system, might work on other makes too. If you want directions to a place, just search for it in Apple Maps on your iPhone, then select ‘Create new contact’. When you get in the car it will sync your iPhone contacts over Bluetooth very quickly. Now if you go to Navigation/Destinations it will show up there so you can select it and start guidance

That works with most navigation systems that sync the phone contacts over Bluetooth. Nothing really new. But why pollute your contacts with navigation destinations that you might only use once? Much better way is to search for it in Apple Maps, Google Maps etc., then tap Share, select the Mercedes Me app as the share target and send it directly to the car's navigation system. A prompt will pop up that ask you if you wanna start navigation to the just received destination. On the newer system (2019+), the phone will send the navigation destination directly over Bluetooth to the nav if it's enabled in the Mercedes Me Connect app, otherwise it will send it through the cloud to the car via its data connection.

Hi, Will that work with my S205 (2016) - that has gamin Map Pilot installed? sending a pin from Goofge Map via the Mercedes me app?

I'm not familiar with the Garmin Map Pilot, but I highly doubt that it integrates with Mercedes Me services, so the answer is most likely no. Google Maps does support sending destinations to Garmin GPS devices, so that might work with the Garmin Map Pilot. This only works from a browser, though.
