Wrist Pin - Worst Case Scenario
I have a 2015 C300 with the dreaded wrist pin issue.
I'd like to get some info from you veterans as to what would happen if I don't do anything about the wrist pin issue?
Anyone here who hasn't done the wrist pin service and is still driving around?
Will the engine fail? Or is it just about the noise it makes when engine is cold?
Thanks,
Dan

Against your uncertainty over the repair stands the certainty that every dealer and most potential purchasers will hear the unrepaired wrist pin defect and pass on buying your car (especially after it is out of warranty). If, against all odds, the repair does have bad results (and the dealer can't fix it). THEN you can trade the car and still get full value for it! (The noise will be gone, and the slower acceleration cannot be noticed on a test drive when a comparison to a faster car is not possible.)
