Finally-W205 Standard Halogen direct upgrate to dual LED headlight- Plug & Play

Got the installation video from my seller. here is the link:

(
)

can not wait to install this headlight. just checked the tracking, it arrived NYC.!!!!!

After searching it for years, finally, I got one pair of dual LED headlight for my 2016 C300!!!! My c300 only have the standard halogen headlight, I have spent years on searching for the direct replacement!!!!

Finally, I find the plug & pay headlight, and it is on the way!! will arrive one week later. I will update photos, share experience after installing it !!! anyway, I finally get rid of the ugly standard halogen headlight!!

The new headlight has Dual LEDs, but it does not support the ILS... it just has the factory look. The seller told me the DRL would flash to blue when unlock! I will put a video later. Here is the look of the headlight!!!

The seller told me there is no need for code or conventor; it is plug & play. Let see how it works.!!! Super excited, can not wait to put it on!

Not sure if you bought OEM headlights, but if they are I think it needs to be coded in order for the car to know it now has LED headlight. It self level every time you start up the car, so I dont know how that's going to work output coding

It is not OEM headlight for sure, but the manufacturer told me the light sources is LED and in high quality. it does not support the auto leveling.

it has the dual LED factory looks, and support some function like the DRL will flash to blue when unlock the door.

Let see how it works after I receive the items. it is in custom now, should get the headlight soon.

I will update later.

it looks a little bit different from mine. mine has a big radiator. just can not wait install my headlight..

I almost traded in my W205 to the one with LEDs. I hate the halogen one week after I bought the car.

$1400? LOL good for a laugh

huyuci 05-16-2018 07:14 PM

Yeah, a little pricey. But people were willing to trade in their cars for one with led. That's even more costly

I agree it is not cheap at all. Probably because the light sources are LEDs, and it should last very long time.

The only problem the LED can have is overheating. My seller told me my headlight is the second generation, and they fixed the overheating problem, and they provide six months warranty.

If I know I can replace the headlight on 2016, I would rather pay 2000!!! the halogen is a piece of ****, and it looks like a **** when light up. so bad!!!
I regretted the second week of the ownership, bought it as new. I got the trade in value, if I did that, I would lose almost 10k. ****TTTTTT!

Quick question to those who have done it before or looked into this before, how much would it cost to upgrade from the LED Hi-performance to the ILS version?

Thank you.

Skuzeeii 06-04-2018 03:06 PM

I have the basic LED headlights, is there a way to get these to work with the ILS system to turn with the car and auto-dim fro oncoming traffic?

Thank you.

I know there is the direct upgrade available for the static version to dual LED, but I am not sure whether it supports ILS or not. it may require extra sensors and computer coding. should cost a lot.

if you only want the factory look, the price should be same

No, it does not support the static Version W205, only for W205 with halogen headlight!!!

It has exactly same look as factory dual LED lookings, but no auto dimming and ILS. I just want the look! it is much much much much better!!!

BTW, can anyone measure your factory headlight LUX, I want to have a comparison

paulatl would you be able to inquire with your contact if we might arrange a group purchase? Lets say 10 units to start with just to get an idea? If anyone is serious about doing this upgrade and would like to try for a group purchase please reply so we can create a list. Maybe we can negotiate a break that would make it an easier decision.

Thanks!

I know they are running the promotion, $1299 for the headlight. if you guys can make a group purchase, I believe there will be some discount.

My friend in Otto Auto asks me to post a reply, so I just copy my reply in another post.

I spoke with the Otto Auto. Oh man, you are not cool. You tried to abuse the PayPal Buyer protection system and get all your money back but keep the product for free. This is unfair to Otto Auto. I mean you filed a claim and state the ITEM not AS Described after 5 months, are you kidding? this is not cool at all.

I know you are pissed off because PayPal denied your claim... my friends in Otto Auto is not happy with what you did to them... They repaired and tested the headlight before shipping back... the headlight was "damaged" during the shipping, but you never sent them a photo to show the damage.

the shipping came with $600 insurance . if the headlight was damaged by USPS, you can simply file a insurance claim.

At this point, my friend told me that he is still willing to honor the warranty and still repair the headlight for free. please email them at ottoautollc@gmail.com. I think you want to say sorry first.

rippedoffbyOTTO 01-20-2019 01:34 AM

Hey Paul,

I'm not trying to abuse the Paypal system. A 180 day money back option is available for use and I was simply exercising that option. Yes, 5 months had elapsed since I first purchased the product, but it broke. Since it broke within 180 days I felt I was rightfully entitled to receive my money back. Also, I have no intention of keeping the product if the claim was won by me, not sure how you came up with that? The product is not installed on my vehicle, its sitting in a box in my garage. If I had won the paypal case I would have sent it back.

As for the "Item not as described", that is the category Paypal chose not me. The item was exactly as described until it broke at least. So, I was also confused by that choice.

I'm not pissed about my claim getting denied. Just disappointed in the time I lost by buying this product and disappointed in the durability of the product. I understand defects are a part of the normal business operations. But I'm pissed that the product was returned broken.

I know I did not address all your points; the shipping insurance and warranty repair. I understand these are valid options still available.
