Smart phone / Menu integration

hi all
just picked my 18 W205 with smartphone integration yesterday. Prepare for lots of noob questions!
On my first drive using Apple maps I noticed it’s difficult and potentially unsafe to use maps and then try to change a radio station.
Currently I push radio, select my channel, then push media to return to the smartphone menu, scroll to maps and push.
Is there an easier and safer way to do this. Assuming I’m doing this wrong.

I think you can push the nav button and it will take you to carplay maps but I'm not sure. You can try that.

this is correct. all you need to do is push radio change station then press navi while in carplay and it goes back to apple maps. You can also change radio from your steering wheel on IC display.
