Prepaid Maintenance Service Prices

I am about to purchase a 2019 C300. I am interested in buying the prepaid maintenance service. Since I put on about 15k miles a year, I am looking at MB's 4year/40k mile plan. Is this a negotiable item at the point of sale? How much should I expect to pay? Or, do I purchase it online for perhaps less than at my dealership? Is there anything else I need to be aware of when buying this plan? TIA for your advice.

The salesperson I spoke to also mentioned the paint/interior sealant protection, just in response to my concern with getting a lighter interior dirty (he wasn't pushy about it, just suggesting it). I usually don't get those sorts of sealant protection, but wondering if I should get it this time if I end up getting the light Silk Beige interior. I do some sports that get my clothes dirty, and would be interested in preventing the seats from getting grimy. I don't want a black interior. Interested in hearing your thoughts on protecting the lighter colored seats.

First off, it's cheaper IMO to purchase you maintenance on a "as needed" basis. The dealers put out plenty of coupons each year, and you'll save money in the long run as opposed to pre-paid.

Second, depending on what they charge for interior protection, I think i'd pass. I'd instead go for a good exterior ceramic coating.

You can apply Gtechniq L1 leather guard yourself to protect the light leather / artico (I have the silk beige interior as well). It is very easy to apply, has excellent longevity, and prevents both scuffs and dye transfer:

Prepaid maintenance - YES - and recommend buying 3Yr/30K 1st - then when that expires buying a 2nd pack either 2/20 or 3/30 ... especially key in the 40k/50k range when plugs are due as well

Prepaid Maintenance is a item normally a item brought up in Finance - the MSRP's for Ppd on a 2019 C300 are 2yr/20K $785 - 3yr/30K $1,020 - 4yr/40K $1,335.

"Some" dealers choose to quote higher-than-MSRP - most dealers will sell at MSRP - and frankly this money goes up to MB - dealer gets paid a commission.

On a lease - the way a lease works - you get a substantial discount.

If purchasing the your C300 - and if you're planning to keep for 50K+ miles - I would pay 1st/10K service out of pocket - and buy 4yr/40K before your 2nd service - best bang-for-the-buck if 50K+ ownership.

Keep the beat !

I have a 2016 and was quoted $1,995 to cover the 40k, 50k, and 60k services. Two “B”’s and the spark plug service. Anyone else get prices for a 2016?

CJG - YES - get a three pack prepaid service for 40/k/50k/60k - you will save a TON since it covers ALL factory recommended service including 40/60 brake fluid flush - 47k spark plug change, etc.

If the dealer recommended it to you - good for them - if the dealer is trying to OVERCHARGE you $500+ - then shame on them !

The cost of the 3-pack doesn't change - your 40k/50k/60k is $1395 buddy - fricking steal for you...

You can ONLY buy prepaid service BEFORE you check in for your next service - you can buy it right before checkin and it applyies when you checkin that day - if you buy it after checkin it won't apply until next service - will not apply that day.

Next time check MSRP prices BEFORE you buy.... once you have bought Prepaid Maintenance - even at too high of a price - you can't get refund..

My C300 is a CPO, 2016, off a 3 year lease and it had just over 17000 miles on. From history I got, it seems to have had an A then B , and an oil and filter change after it was turned in, not a full A service, although A doesn't involve much more than oil and filter, and the CPO inspection is at least as rigorous as an A.. The dash reminder says the next service is a B. Not sure what prepaid maintenance contract to buy. Do they sell a B, A , B? Will they really want to change the plugs at 4/5 years?

It should be a B next. You can also choose which services to use it on. I paid for an A out-of-pocket then used it on my next services which included plugs and a tranny fluid change, which were quite pricey. I still have one service left.
This is on my W204, but the same thing applies here.

Is it correct that I can get prices for a prepaid maintenance contract from other dealers, and use that contract at my present dealer?

Ditto! That is what I did. 20K/miles per year. It basically will save you sales tax.
