2016 C300 (sport package) grill upgrade questions
Hey All,
I did a search on this but I was only able to find the guy doing a 2014 c300 and I'm not quite sure his grill will fit my 2016.
I have a 2016 c300 with the sport package. I also have the little radar thing above the Mercedes symbol on the front grill. Does anyone know if this would be suitable as a replacement to go from the chrome spoke style to a more blackout look?
It says it fits the 2015+ c250 w205 however (noob statement) isn't the w205 a C300 as well?

Thanks for the reply!
Didn't think you had to take the whole front end off to swap these?!?! I've seen the one you've installed. It's the diamond style. The one I'm looking at is more understated but I guess as long as the dimensions are the same it'll work.
The ones on eBay are pricey for what you get so thought I would look at this as an option; if it's all from the same place why not?
Also I'm assuming the "radar hole" the same as camera hole? Apparently not all the grills are created equal

Been looking on google all morning for the AMG style grill that has whatever is required for the front camera/radar thing shown in the image above. I don't have 360 degree so not even sure what that is. Dummy camera?
Anyone have a lead on these?

You do have to remove the entire front end in order to do it. The grill snaps in from the back - you can see that from the 3rd picture. It's a little of a headache to remove without breaking any of the tabs. My grill came with the dummy camera (which is what it is). You don't need to buy a grill with one though. That's up to you. It looks like there's a "hole" under the hood (for running wires, etc) if you don't have it on the new grill. It's not noticeable unless you're up under there looking for it.

Thanks for the info! You actually made my life a lot easier when looking at what options are out there. There are some reasonably priced ones for sale from China
One of the guys here at my office also has a 2016 C300 Sport and was quoted about $800.00 from MB here in Canada. Wowzers.
According tot the video below the lady was able to do it without taking the whole front grill off.
t
Granted that is a W204
How hard was it to remove the whole front grill?

Just make sure that if you have the 360 Camera you do not unplug it as you will need to calibrate the camera and there is no way to do it on your own as Mercedes dealership will have to do it.

Thanks guys. You all have been great with your responses and I've actually learned a fair bit.
I don't have a 360 degree camera. I have a backup camera and I have sensors in the front and back that ding when I get to close to objects but I don't have 360 degree camera view.
Also, darn it, you were right, you do have to take the front bumper off. Boo that kind of sucks but because I don't have anywhere to do this at my place I may just take it to a body shop and see what they'll charge me to have it done. There's a performance place here in Toronto called eurocharged performance and they do all kinds of work on Mercedes so they can probably take the front bumper off no problem.
Did any of you guys who have done yours have links to the products on Amazon or ebay that you've purchased? I see a lot of the stuff comes from China and I'm not sure I'm willing to wait 3 weeks for shipping. So I guess that means I'm looking around for something local and reasonably priced.

I did mine in my garage (alone) without jacking up the car.
If you keep the tires straight ahead, there is enough clearance (under the car) to remove the bolts from the bottom splash guards.
You only need to remove the front splash guard. Front and rear splash guards share a few bolts in the middle. if you only remove those middle bolts, the front splash guard comes off and rear can stay on.
(replace one middle bolt to support the rear guard from bending, while you work)
If you have a friend help, it should only take 30 - 40 minutes to remove the bumper. I was surprised how easy it was to do.
HOW TO REMOVE THE BUMPER ON A W205 C-CLASS.
