Lower MPG? 2016 vs. 2019 C Class
I drove a 2016 C300 sedan for 3 years and averaged about 29 MPG.
I just got a 2019 C300 Coupe. I've had it for about 3 weeks and am averaging around 25 MPG.
Does anyone know if this is due to some change in the engine, or the transmission?

I have the 2015 C300 and get 29.5. I believe that 2015-2017 model years have the M274 engine and 2018+ has the newer M264 engine in it (numbers don't sound intuitive). I did some reading on Wikipedia and saw "In the C 300, the engine is in a higher state of tune, at 255 bhp, but doesn't have electric assistance.". I'm guessing the newer models removed the "mild hybrid" and tuned it higher and thats why you are getting lesser fuel economy?

2015 C300 4m with 43k miles and 1.5 years post wrist pin repair....Getting about 27mpg on country roads and a nice 33mpg on highway. OP I'm sure your car just needs to break in.

I just passed 1,000 miles and I have noticed the mileage is improving as I put miles on the engine. I'll check back in a couple months to report.

This morning, I drove about 30 miles to a golf course, almost all on the freeway. Almost all of the trip was in Economy Made at about 70 MPH cruise control.
I got just over 31 mpg.
My 2016 C300 got closer to 37 mpg under those conditions.
Hopefully, the mpg will increase once the car is broken in.
