Mercedes-Benz C300 4matic
Smile 2016 W205 C300 4Matic

Hello MBWorld,

First time poster here... I purchased a CPO 2016 C300 4matic with 35k miles on it a little over a year ago. So far, I have not had a single issue, and I'm going on 43k miles. I absolutely love the car.

My only (minor) complaint would be how loud (also, brittle?) the car sounds / feels over bumps and broken road surfaces, but in reading some of the other threads, I think this may be due to the sport suspension and run-flat tires on my particular model. Once my run-flats need replacement, I plan to replace them with either the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. (Feedback on either or both is welcomed.)

Other W205 owners out there, what sort of non-maintenance issues have you ran into, if any, and at what mileage? This is the first car I've ever purchased rather than leased, so I'm looking forward to keeping it for a while so long as it remains relatively trouble-free.

Thanks!

Search “maintenance” and only choose the W205 forum to narrow your search.

You can skip a few of the prepaid threads but there’s several posts from users about maintenance.

Search “reliability” and only choose the W205 forum to narrow your search.

You can go through and see what others have said about these cars.

You'll want to take your car into the dealership to fix any sounds/squeaks/rattles before hitting 50K miles. After 50K, MB dealers absolve themselves from fixing these issues under warranty and you'll either have to shell out major out-of-pocket $ to fix or invest in a DIY solution.

Both those links come up bad for me.

Thanks for letting me know. Not sure why we can’t link search results.

Either way, use the search with any key word (maintenance, reliability, etc.) and only choose the W205 forum to narrow your search. Best way to pinpoint repeated info on these forums.

I’m on my 3rd set of DWS06s (66k miles) and think they are great.

Same year, purchased CPO at 33K. Just over 40K now. Only issue is the drover's door handle illumination just went out so I need to contact the dealer to get that fixed before the factory warranty runs out. Factory warranty runs out next month, then will start the 1 year CPO warranty. The car has been a weekend/day trip car and a commuter car for my wife. She drives 80-90 miles a day and loves it.

It does run a little stiff (Sport/AMG package 4Matic) but like others mention, most likely due to the run flats. I don't mind them, so I'll probably go with them again once they need replaced.

Only issue we had was the ac smell. It seems to have resolved when Service B done back in May and dealer did some kind of treatment.

Went with the Michelin’s for the better staggered treadwear warranty. Didn’t want to go back to run flats.

The run flats were the worst. I went with the michelin pilot sport 4s and it was much MUCH better. Softer, quieter, and more grip. They’re bald now and I’m skipping all over the place so I’m ordering some Firestone firehawk Indy 500. They’re rated nearly as well and a fraction of the cost. I can drive summer tires year around here and I don’t drive the w205 much anymore so why spend double on tires.

I'm at 127,000 miles, bought mine CPO with 9,000 miles. I am on my 4th set of front tires, 6th or 7th set of rears (they wear on the outer edges and make noise 15-20,000 miles.) I have changed the transmission fluid twice, plugs and air filter at 80,000 miles. My GPS screen has had a couple of hiccups (powering off and on fixes it.) My trackpad sometimes is not responsive, I think when it gets real hot is when the issue occurs. My silver trim is bubbling on the center console. My steering wheel is peeling a little. All minor issues. My headliner has a bubble in the back where it's separating.

I'm still on my original brakes. Overall car runs great. Aside from the bubbling trim and headliner issue its been a great car. You can search my other posts and see the trim and headliner pics.
