W205 won't Shift to shift to reverse while in drive at a stop position.
I've owned my car for approx. 2 years and purchased same from CPO.
It's a 2015 C300 (W205) Sport. After driving my car, I'll attempt to park by placing the vehicle in reverse, but the vehicle won't shift. It will stay in drive. It won't let me even place the car in park. I have to turn the car off and re-start the vehicle before the car will go to reverse. NO sounds of bad transmission. Just won't go shift from drive to reverse or then park after driving a few miles. Please help!!! Michael L. |
Take it to the dealer.

Happened to me before about 7 months ago. It never did it again. I tried to reverse park, but the reverse gear never triggered. I had to park like normal and I think I also couldn't put it in park but I can't recall for sure. When I later came back to my car after parking, the reverse gear worked like normal. Might be an uncommon glitch that couldn't respond to the gears changing. I would make sure you don't feel/hear something uncommon and if it happens again, take it in.

Mine is doing this as well and it's getting worse. The car drives fine once it is able to get into drive. No issues accelerating or weird feelings. I have an appointment at a MB shop on Tuesday. It has been doing this for 6 months but it's now becoming more common, taking 3-4 restarts before it will shift.
