TPMS Inoperative after changing all sensors

Hi,
a few weeks ago I put my winter wheel set on my W205. After driving for a while the system finally recognized the winter wheels but only one tpms sensor was working, the other 3 where showing the "wheel sensors missing" message with the yellow tpms light on the dash.
I ordered all 4 new sensors from ebay for 60$(they are pretty cheap but they look OEM) and got them installed yesterday. After driving for a minute I got the message "TPMS active", the yellow tpms light on the dash turned off but no pressures were showing.
After driving for 10-15 minutes the tpms light is back and I got the "Tyre Pressure Monitor Inoperative" warning.

I tried scanning for codes with a OBD reader and I got C158100(Front or rear sensor localization was unsuccessful). After clearing the codes I get the same cycle, first TMPS active then after driving longer, TMPS inoperative.

I'm 100% sure the sensors are good, I can pick them up with a RTL-SDR dongle and rtl_433. The sensors are transmitting data all the time while driving:

The sensors are even sending wheel temperature to the car

And I'm almost certain the car is also getting the same data because I can see the tire pressure in the Mercedes Me app on my phone.

Has anyone had a similar experience with tpms on Mercedes cars? The fault code seems like the car can't figure out which sensor is on which wheel. How many tmps receivers are in the w205? I always thought that there is one receiver in each wheel arch and it should be no problem to know for what wheel a sensor is transmitting data?

Having same issue. Would like to figure out why. 2 friends put aftermarket cheap sensors in and no issues. I bought MB sensors and getting “ Tire Pessure monitor inoperative. No Wheel Sensors” message

After changing wheels or tires you must restart the TPMS system as documented in the owners manual. This should detect the new sensors in their respective location and start reporting pressure and temperature correctly.

My TPMS started working after clearing the fault code C158100(Front or rear sensor localization was unsuccessful) and then immediately restarting the TPMS system. After driving for about 5-10 minutes the car picked up the new sensors.

Hi, yes as I said above, after deleting the fault code and immediately driving the car for a while, the TPMS started working. For some reason I have to do it every time I change from my summer to winter (and vice versa) wheel set, because the car always throws the "Front or rear sensor localization was unsuccessful" error.

That’s for the response, unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work.
same issue, eBay sensors which the tire shop installed and seemed to read ok. The car can’t pick them up for some reason.
active for a few minutes while the orange light flashes, then “inoperative “ .
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

The error "No wheel sensors" is a bit different from my error. Are you sure you got the correct sensors fitted for your car? The ones that I got have the part number A0009050030 and I believe the OEM sensors are made by Schrader with the part number 3013. The sensors look similar to this:

I'm no expert but I think that not all sensor models work with different car models (they use different communication protocols, although same frequency 433 MHz). Look at https://catalogue.schradertpms.com/e...ch=A0009050030 under "Sensor Applications" for example the w205 c-class and w212 e-class are listed but not the w213 e-class. So I assume that w213 sensors wouldn't work with the w205.

Many aftermarket replacement sensors can be programmed to use a different communication protocol (e.g. Schrader calls them EZ-sensor). If you bought universal sensors your tire shop should be able to reprogram them with the tool from your previous post.
You should also scan your car with an OBD reader if you are sure you got the right sensors. If I remember correctly there is an option in Xentry diagnostic where you can manually enter the id for each sensor if the car can't figure it out by itself.

Could you share an image or the eBay listing of the sensors you got?

thanks again for your response.
these are what I bought from eBay.
from China and thought it was worth a try.
I will try tire shop again and see what they say.

Do you know if the whole system can be disabled?

I have similar issue after buying a 2'nd hand set of wheels for my 2021 W205 C300de facelift.

Rims are the same model as original with the car, but car wont pick up the sensors in the new wheels.

Are the OEM sensors in pre facelift and post facelift models the same ?
