Bluetooth not compatible with newer phones
I have had my car since 2018, Bluetooth pairing has always worked fine.
In 2021 I started noticing that on newer phones I can no longer pair for playing music (but I can still pair for handsfree calls). This problem has been seen on 3+ phones (Samsung A32, A52) belonging to me and my friends. My old phone still pairs fine for calls and music.
Does anyone know why this could be? Since I can still pair for calls, I assume it isn't a hardware compatibility issue and there must be some setting that needs updating on either the car or the phones.
Any help much appreciated!

I have a '14 ML and a '14 GL so COMAND should be similar. When I play music, Bluetooth goes to the last device paired, so I think that's why your old phone still works. Pairing for phone calls seems to be separate. Also, Bluetooth audio pairing is not shown in the Audio menu unless you scroll down all the way. So go up to Audio, press the COMAND wheel, and then scroll down to the last item, Bluetooth. I haven't done it in awhile so hopefully it's intuitive from that point. I think COMAND only supports one device so you may have to unpair your old phone and pair up a new one. I've attached the '15 COMAND manual which should be the same for '14. Go to page 211 which has the audio pairing instructions. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
