I think I'm going to be limited to a 2016 c450 without sunroof. No c43 for me if sunroofs were standard. The c450 that was for sale 2.5 hours from me has sold. I'll have to wait for another non-sunroof one to pop up in Ohio to test fit myself.

So, DUH!! I'm such an idiot! There are many C300's without sunroofs, so why don't I drive one of those?? So, I found one at CarMax nearby and drove it. Significantly more headroom, I'd say 1.0 to 1.5 inches? I could barely squeeze 1 finger between head and roof with the C450 with panoramic sunroof. In this C300 with no sunroof (and apparently a sport package because it had seats that looked like what is in the C450, a dynamic button to use Sport and Sport+, and paddle shifters) I had three fingers, or maybe 2 inches, of headroom. See photo of my fat face and my three finger salute. Notice how close (left to right) my head is to the grab handle. So, the head liner in the panoramic sunroof car is definitely far enough into the car laterally to interfere with a tall person's head (or race helmet).

Happy to hear you found a way to compare it. So for your use, do you think you will need the extra room no sunroof gives? I think there will be more options and more availability if you are willing to "compromise" by getting one with a sunroof or even panoramic roof opposed to no sunroof.

Yes, I need it for a helmet for driving events. Since I can't find any examples of a C43 Sedan with no sunroof, I'm stuck buying out-of-warranty C450. Still a good car, but expensive (for me) for buying out of warranty. The most I've ever spent on any car was $21,000 for that C230 when it was 1.5 years old and obviously under factory warranty. Spending $30,000 - $37,000 on a car with no warranty makes me nervous. We all live within our own means and budgets.

My bad, I should had read your original post, you mentioned it.
I am hoping adjusting the seat to the lowest will help if you do end up getting one with a sunroof instead if not then I guess somehow disconnect the electronic seat adjustment module and try to physically lower it down (without throwing codes in the system hopefully)
Maybe you could try trimming your helmet as well? (joking of course though and you don't want to compromise the safety of the helmet)

I've been putting seats in their lowest position since I got my license in 1983, so that is an automatic action when I get in a car.

The next step is to determine what options/features are a priority for me. I think I'll start a new thread for that over in the C450/C43 AMG forum. I found a C450 brochure on our site here, so that helps a lot to know what all the possibilities were for that model year. I decode VINs all the time, and have made a spreadsheet of options/features of several sunroofless C450s so I can compare cars easily.

Bringing closure to thread

I never did follow up on this thread, so I'm bringing closure now.

I found a 2017 C43 without a sunroof. Brought it home from Kansas City near end of April. Bought from original owner, 46000 miles on it. Fully dealer maintained, already had 50000 mile service performed. He didn't order it without a sunroof, but the dealer just happened to be able to find one in the pipeline for him. P4 option package which has 360 camera, lane keeping assist, distronic+ with steering assist, rear cross traffic alert, and more. No HUD or perf exhaust, which I'm fine with. Plenty of headroom in general, helmet requires some seat recline. Looking for new helmet (modern regulations) and track wheels/tires.
