Mysterious hose underneath car

Hi MBWorld Community,

I have a 2015 c250 (w205) and I have a hose that connects to no where and I’m sure that it’s supposed to be connected to something. But the hose is super short and doesn’t seem to go anywhere. Does anyone know what this hose is supposed to be connected to?

Thank you

Good question, looks sort of like a rubber coolant hose but probably not otherwise you won't have any coolant left with a wide opening like that, hopefully someone else with more knowledge can chime in. In the meantime, I guess don't drive it.

Looks like the coolant radiator drain hose. the end is capped off with a barb and hose clamp that you would remove to drain the system and then replace it. this is more accessible than the petcock style systems integrated on some radiators.
Are you missing the undertray that covers this part of the car?

I would have also guessed some kind of a drain hose, but yes, normally there should be a tray to cover the underside of the engine and protect all those bits and improve air flow below the car.
