Front Acrylic Roof Panel

I lost the front acrylic roof panel a few weeks ago on the interstate. It detached and flew off, and from what I have researched, the glue simply failed. In the meantime, I taped over the holes in the roof to keep the rain out and ordered a new panel. I have a few questions about the replacement. I don't have the original part, so I can't compare the old and new. There are no rubber gaskets on the side or rear of the panel to seal against the edge of the front of the panoramic roof or the sides of the roof (green ovals). This seems unusual. There is a rubber lip that runs along the front of the windshield (red oval). Does the front of the acrylic panel sit above or under this lip? Could someone take detailed pictures of this panel on their vehicle with a panoramic roof that would help answer these questions?

The MB recall could be of interest, it looks like your situation.

Thanks. Yes, I saw this recall. Unfortunately, it only applies to vehicles that have previously had this front panel replaced. I suspect either the material or the re-attachment process was incorrect, and the panel became loose again. My car has never had this repair and does not qualify for the recall (although the result is the same).

I found the answer to the rubber lip along the front of the windshield. The acrylic panel sits under the lip. Can someone share pictures of the rear of the acrylic panel next to their panoramic roof so I can determine if I need to add a rear seal?

Thank you. There is definitely a rubber gasket between the rear of the acrylic panel and the front of the panoramic roof. This is not included in the replacement panel I purchased (non-OEM). I will need to find a suitable gasket to attach to the rear of the new panel. Thanks again for the pictures.
