Wait time (USA) for orders
 

For those who have ordered a W206, what has the dealer told you for the expected delivery. The ordering guide(s) has price for many of the options but not the base MSRP, any estimates?

I did not realize that we can order a new C class W206 in US dealer. The configuration in US webpage is not live...

The W206 isn't due out in the U.S. until next spring.

MBUSA always takes their time with the configurator. The dealer is able to put in an order way before that goes live.

Be prepared to wait a very long time. Mercedes just announced that they are delaying deliveries across the board by more than a year.

True, it says for some models the waiting times are long and for some over a year. Just saying, be prepared to wait for a while.

Ordered in June. Most recent anticipated delivery is January 2022. Extended my expiring lease.

Not likely. Spring at the earliest. Just because your car gets built doesn't mean it will be delivered. See the 21 S Class launch issues.

+1...the homologation process of new model years and new launches seems to take longer and longer every year. Cars sit around at the VPC for months before they get released to customers at the beginning of a new model year.

Well, even the scheduled build decade isn’t final until it’s final, so I know that the currently anticipated delivery timeframe is just tentative.

Well, I quite like my current car so I’m happy to extend the lease on it as long as needed. I just wish that the new car build itself could be delayed if it meant getting all the chips it needs for the “boxes I checked” on the order.

Not accurate, and definitely not across the board at all -- at least not in the US region.

For some of the more rare, high end, limited production models (Maybachs, AMGs, etc), it's possible that these people could be waiting close to a year or more, due more limited production capacity for models that already had very limited production slots available pre-chip shortage. As we know, Mercedes is not building most V8 models (GLE580, GLS580, 63 AMGs, G-Wagons, etc) for the 2022 model year at all. So for anyone who has ordered or plans to order one of those models, it's not even possible to get one in a year or less. Those people would probably be waiting closer to 2 years for most of those, and much longer even for G-Wagons.

Also all depends when customers placed their orders. For customers who placed an order for a 2022 model back in May, for instance -- months before the 2022 models started production or were expected to be released this fall/winter, they will obviously have waited an even longer time for their vehicle to arrive. This new 2022 C300 was always announced to be released in "early 2022" as opposed to right now or next month like other 2022 models, so the wait will naturally be a little longer since we are so far ahead of the release. I have a 2022 C300 on order that is expected to be built at the end of January. Even if mine isn't released until March, that's still only roughly a 6 month wait. There are 2022 C300 scheduled for production starting in November. I have a hunch they'll actually do the opposite of what they did with the 2021 S-Class and will wind up releasing the first waive of 2022 C300s by the end of this year, or at least a little earlier than expected. Mercedes need to deliver as many cars as they can. If there winds up being a bunch of C300s that have successfully completed production and are sitting at the port by December, I don't think they'll want to hold onto those cars unless there is some specific reason preventing them from releasing them earlier.

But from what I have seen and heard, there currently not any significant delays expected for most of the "bread and butter" models -- GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS, etc. (First wave of 2022 CLAs, A220s, and GLEs have already been released) Most people ordering these more typical carry-over models will likely wait the usual 3-4 months or possibly 3-5 months at worst.

So can we order in USA? I will ask my local dealer.
