LOL! with this much power I'm uncertain any tire would hold up, but PS3's are what I and a lot of folks like.......what size are the rears?

Try Hankook V12 Ventus.....I had the Continentals on when I had my M6 stock. They were gone within 5k miles (even though I didn't mash it at all during that 5k). I drive 25k miles year....so I wasn't going to be shelling out $8k year for tires. I went with the Hankooks and they last 3x as long...good tires, can't beat the price...can't beat the warranty (1 year warranty against road hazards). I've had them on several cars since....the M6, 750li X-Drive, SL55...and will be on my CLS next week.

Regular dimensions. I have the amg wheels. Not really into changing the rims. My car is a total sleeper. With all the work done to it, people wonder what the hell is under the hood. :-)

No....still would recommend them. Trust me, I took full advantage of the M6....but the break-in period was 4k miles or something. That's my point...I knew if the Contis were going to be crap in 6k miles under normal driving conditions...then I assumed they wouldn't last half that mileage under hard driving.

I've had the Ventus in all different sizes....stock 19 inch size on SL55....M6 was also stock 19 inch size....750 was a 21 inch tire. The best part was the warranty....especially with low profile tires and where I live...potholes everywhere. I've popped several tires that were all replaced free by Hankook. Is it the absolute quietest tire made? No......but for the price.....they can't be beat...and there have been tons of reviews that have backed this up for years now.

I have Michelin Super Sports on the stock AMG rims, 295 rears and 255 fronts and I love them.

Owned the V12s, getting PSS tomorrow

You might already know this stuff but when you get the new tires make sure you have a proper rear/front alignment done immediately. Your tire shop may not be able to do a 4 wheel alignment but most will do a free check. Drive directly to the dealer and compare it to their analysis when they do the alignment. In the old days I saw tires wear out in 500 miles when an alignment wasn't done immediately. Also break them in properly for the first 500 miles.

The V12s seem to be a bit narrower for a given size than the PSS. For example, on the same wheel, the tread width of a 265/40/18 PSS is about that of a 275/40/18 V12. Also the PSS can be rotated since they are not directional (front/front rear/rear too if you have staggered wheels); the V12s cannot since they are directional.

I liked the V12s when they were inexpensive but they wore out too quickly, and handled a bit squishy which I think had something to do with the width discrepancy. Now that the price differential has changed I'm going with the PSS. If they last 2x as long they are cheaper, no?

BTW the dealer is supposed to check/align the car when they receive it but many don't. Thus the original tires wear out early, sometimes dangerously.

295 30s. You only need the 25s if you are going to go to 20 inch rims, which I am still on the fence about due to north east big city road quality issues.
