Wow, 2014 CLS63 S-AMG ordered :)

just ordered mine today, and traded the f10 m5(will be sad to see it go)

this will be my second cls AMG in less than 2 years (lol, long story...)

options:

- S-model
- black on black(not sure yet whether to go with regular black or obsidian?)
- advanced driving assistance package (essentially distronic plus etc, etc.)
- carbon ceramic brakes.
- twin 5-spoke wheels

here in Canada our options packages are different from the US, the premium package is pretty crappy and only has 3-4 things so i opted to not get it. plus a lot of the interior options that were previously part of the premium package are now standard with the S model.

all these standard with the s model;

• Carbon fibre trim
• Drive-Dynamic multicontour driver’s seat
• Climate Comfort front seats
• Embossed AMG emblem on front headrests
• designo Silver seatbelts
• AMG performance 3-spoke Nappa leather/Alcantara steering wheel with
flattened top and bottom sections
• AMG instrument cluster with RACETIMER
• AMG illuminated front door sills

btw... in the Canadian ordering guide it says all the AMG wheels are 9X19 front / 9.5x19 rear. but didn't we have 19x10 rears on previous cls63's? they looked wide to be 9.5's and the specs read 19x10. i hope they didn't give the car more power while making the wheels narrower???

Oh no....... do we have to dig up all your posts about how you first loved your past CLS and then hated it? And then went back and forth with quite a few members on why your car was so crappy?

I joke, moreso now that we have had some reasonably good exchanges over at M5post. LOL. Im sure the AWD with the non tune hp bump will make things more tolerable for you.

Oh I can.... Im having a tough time getting back to Benz though. I have the Black and thats the best car but Im spoiled with the proper steering and suspension feel that the M cars have created. The Black is the only one that mirrors and exceeds that but its a real race car for the street.

After running the R8 V10 for 3 months, Im thinking of trying out an RS7 too... man these germans are crazy.

Oh did I tell you I got a May 2014 allocation (delivery) for a GT3 at msrp!!!!!!! If I want it

im sure the gt3 could easily replace the CBS. but if you can afford to keep both i would . lol.

i was talking with another Canadian who has ordered his gt3 as well. and guess what; he says he paid msrp! although he did say he spec'd it with almost every option...

i was seriously considering the gt3 too. no doubt it will be the more amazing car from a pure driving excitement perspective, but then i thought about it and decided i didn't want to pay that much money for a car i would have to let sit in the garage for "6" months of the year. (snow from nov-apr up here). the 4matic benz ill drive all year round.

and once i tune it ... (lol manhart m6)

Hey The Names Paul im the local Rep for N4S on MB World.

Congrats on the order they are amazing cars.

Funny you should say you traded in your F10 M5 for the car

we just got 2 project F10 M5's here

and one of the guys traded in his old CLS to get it haha kind of ironic.

Its interesting how the packages vary so much from the United States to Canada.

Id be interested in putting the two side by side an doing a full comparison between then both engine and aesthetic plus the interior.

I have a feeling that GT3 is gonna replace the M5 in your collection since you spoke highly of your M6 and both M's have the same engine.

Mainly- my local tech, Benzworks, just tuned a 2014 E63S and got 588 AWHP!!!!!!!!

Thats AWHP- wow. He said the car is a GTR killer LOL- but I believe the car tuned will be a crusher and we are talking dig/roll, etc. I just need to get over the suspension and steering deficiencies.

Vic: thanks for sharing.
I can't wait to see tuned numbers at the 1/4 mile to see how much the AWD affects the upper end.
Rarely do you let it rip at the light and most times, it's from a roll with triple digit speeds.

Its ironic that lately I have lined up more often than not with cars and I wish I had my 997.2TT again with the blistering PDK or even the GTR. The R8 is no slouch either but I dont drive as much.

Well MotorTrend tested the wagon at 3.4 seconds 0-60 so we should see similar times from the CLS (the wagon is about 250 lbs heavier but has the back end weight for launches).

I think my Wagon felt and was faster 0-60 than my CLS and both had the same tune. But the CLS was better after 120 mph for sure...

So you didn't get any of these options? IMO they are essential!!! Especially Keyless Go! Even a Nissan Sentra has Keyless Go these days! LOL

P01 Premium 1 Package:
P17 : KEYLESS-GO Package Code
218 : Rearview Camera
401 : Heated & Active Ventilated Front Seats
432 : Active Multicontour Driver Seat
881 : Electronic Trunk Closer

well these two:
401 : Heated & Active Ventilated Front Seats
432 : Active Multicontour Driver Seat

are standard with the s model, so i have these.

but no, didnt get ...

P17 : KEYLESS-GO Package Code
218 : Rearview Camera
881 : Electronic Trunk Closer[/QUOTE]

these were the premium package...

i dont mind turning the key.. what the big deal?
the electronic trunk closer; you have to reach up to press the button anyway, and since you still have to use the key to open the trunk, just as easy to use teh remote to close the trunk too.

would have liked the backup camera, but not going to order a whole package just to get it.

Agree 100% here- fumbling keys, diggin in pockets appearing to play pocket pool etc....I hate having to go thru the process.

I couldnt believe that I got it on the 991 (that porsche actually added it as an option on a carrera) and love it; all my other cars have it.

Rolling down windows is not much more work IMHO LOL

cls63 s-model
fyi,
I went to the dealer last week in LA, they have the cls63 smodel with sticker price $124k loaded with
priemium 1,carbon int and spoiiler, bof sound package, parkstronic and countiour, slit view...
didnt like the sound package since it took most of the space where the spare tire is located.
they originally ask $10k above premium and i got them down to sticker price, then later they wouldnt want to sell i. then we agreed $4k above sticker afterall + ttl. i dont know if you guys when u ordering it, do you get any discount orjust pay what the price as is or any premium. i guess since thecar is in stock at the time and they want toget more money comparing a 3 months wait time. so i refuse to buy it. also they offered 2.74% financing. is that a good deal or should i order it and pay less $4k premium?

thanks

I was able to order the 2014 E63 S to my spec for $2000 over invoice. I know the CLS is a bit more exclusive, but I bet if you are willing to drive or ship, you can get way better than MSRP or +$4k over!

Best financing rates I have read about are from PenFed at 1.99%. You have to join a military support organization to qualify if you aren't in the military but it is ~ $25 which seems like a great way to spend $25 to support our military AND get a great rate.

Good luck,
X

did you ask them for any discounts? I know that the invoice is different to sticker price shown on the windows at thedealer. how much was your order/build and how to ask for their invoice or is it the same on the website when u build it?
I have experience with the finance people trying to buy the rate lower and ending up u have to pay extra grand for the low rate. it sound rediculous, why dont they just give the lowest rate to make customer happy if you are already qualified for it. instead of paying for the rates, i guessed thats hhow they make money out of it!

Would you let go your CBS for a CLS? I know the family is growing and you have seen my tail at the last drag event but your car is simply awesome.
I am thinking of selling mine as something is coming up that I may have to jump on.
