CLS in the shop

Had an 02 sensor replaced and another one failed not five miles after I left the shop. Having that replaced today and discovered another problem: There is oil inside the engine wiring harness due to cam position sensors that are letting the oil get by in the connector. That was from one of the shop guys. Having that fixed too.....all in it's going to run me about 1700 or so for parts and labor.

Any input welcome.

the positioning sensor is an easy fix. I’ll have to look up the thread but someone did it at home and got the part from ECS Tuning. Not really much harder than changing the air filter. Hardest part is cleaning the harness.

im headed to dinner but will look it up for you. Hope I’m not too late and you haven’t already shelled out for it

Thanx Mavrick, I even had posts in that too. The shop said it wasn't as bad as expected and I hope it doesn't still cost me that much but it's in the shop over the weekend with the go ahead to fix so I'll find out more soon, thanx again for the reply!

Had to have all 4 cam sensors replaced, thankfully none got into the ECU, oil did get into the wiring harness but wasn't as bad as they've seen in the past.......visit cost was 1300 and that included another 02 sensor. Hope this info helps anyone else in this situation.

Common Bro, we all promised ourselves that we would all have that checked and now this happened to you. Speaking of that I need to check mine too before I even have that issue. Oh and mad respect for buying your car brand new and still riding it till this day!

Upcoming work:

Brake flush
Replace spark plugs
AND
Reseal the engine timing cover, right front engine cover due to very minor leak.......

Could that be why my car has been running a little hotter? Only about 9-12 degree's hotter, but I def notice it on the temp gauges......

Similar problem

I have a 2014 CLS63 AWD with 30k miles and Renntech tune. Unfortunately I had a misfire issue a few days ago. When I took the car in the mechanic found a fouled out spark plug. I could have replace only 1x but I decided to do them all at once. 3 days later and almost six hundred bucks short my car CEL came on again. I checked the code myself this time and it reads P2099 which is O2 sensor. I’m wondering if this may be caused due to resonator delete / possible exhaust leak. However, I don’t know why this would just now be an issue after almost a year since the delete.

From my experience I think the sensors were failing due to the harness issue I was having.
