TCU Tune from Eurocharged **ON ORDER**
Ordered a TCU tune for the 2014 CLS63 AMG S today. A cable with an OBD2 plug will arrive soon, and software for the laptop will be downloaded from the cloud. Then I'll tune the transmission and give it a test, and report back here to this thread about my observations and "value" of this tune.
At this time, I know the transmission is a little "janky" as I like to call it, compared to my 2023 vehicle (a Dodge Durango SRT 392). The Dodge shifts like butter, paddle shifts are instant, and there are various modes, much like the Mercedes. But that is where the comparison ends.
Mercedes shifts are rather slow, paddle shifts are delayed by a half second or so, and torque over time seems to be antiquated. This is as it should be, since I'm talking about 10 year old software in the transmission now. The update should remove all the restrictions, improve torque over time, allowing for faster shifts and higher pressures on the clutch plates. Again, I'll report my findings to this thread and will make a You Tube video for my channel that explains my findings and provides impressions, as well as shows the process of flashing the TCU.
After the TCU is complete, the next step for me is to do the ECU. But that's another event. I'm assuming based on my conversations with Sean, that the TCU tune will make the car feel very different than it feels right, probably more like the Dodge transmission. Or something similar, if not better. Old technology, old software, being upgraded... should be helpful. If you've done the TCU upgrade to your car... it would great to read about your impressions.
EDIT: Tune was installed today, first of February, 2024, and yes, it's everything I hoped it would be, and the service was excellent. Sean at EuroCharged is amazingly helpful.

I hope you post your results here. It will be interesting to see. According the Sean at corporate, this is supposed to update the transmission, bringing it into the modern era. I believe it will be a different driving vehicle, but time will tell.
