CLS55's at the dragstrip?

Certainly someone has taken their CLS55 to the drag strip yet.

I'm seeing all the discussions in the E & SL threads but no drag strip discussions here.

Now that the weather is cooling off nicely you CLS55 owners need to get your buts to the track and post your results. Lets see some times and videos!!

I took mine a couple of months ago to one of the ATL get togethers. Ran a best of 12.4. Can't remember the trap speed. I will try and hunt down the slip.

Did you go to the Atlanta Dragway or the track south of town?

For what it's worth, I took my CLS500 to the track here in Atlanta last Friday and got a 14.2 @99 something.. new at this, but it was fun.

............small world. I was there also. I saw your run. You were in the right hand lane with silver CLS500. Nice car. I think you coud have had a better time, your reaction time seemed slow and perhaps your 60 ft time as well. I am not a good driver myself. I took my W210 E55K to silver dollar a few weeks ago and could not get the car to hook up. My friend drove the car same day I saw you at Commerce and got 12.2 @115mph in winter mode. I ran the G55 and got 13.5 101mph. I will be there this coming friday to try to improve my drag strip driving. I have seen W211 E55's run in mid 12's. I imagine this will be similar time for a stock CLS55. I am begining to realize that a good driver is the best performance mod.

That is a small world. Yeah, my 60' times were 2.1 to 2.2 on the 4 runs I did - I think I should be able to do better - but this was my first time at the track, so the learning curve was steep.

It was at Silver Dollar down South of ATL.

Ted, were you there the day I brought out my CLS55?

This trip I took our E55T running a best of 12.61 before the track really went away.

This was the worst I have ever seen Silver Dollar, it had rained for three days prior to the event so I suspect that some of the issues were from that. I try not to go to Commerces since you hardly get in any runs. At Silver Dollar, I can get 10-15 runs in and be out in three hours.
