Let the mods begin!!! Where to buy???

OK, here goes..... I need wheels, either Maya DLS 20's, Lowenhart LD5's, or Vellano VSH with tires ready to roll. Who will have these in stock and who is a safe person to deal with???

I also want to lower the car with a module, maybe the lighted AMG door sills, euro command so I can have the DVD, and some slighth body work such as rear spoiler lip and front . Where and approx how much??

My Vellano VSM (20x9F, 20x11R) wheels arrived perfectly mounted and balanced with Pirelli PZero Nero 255/30-20 and 305/25-20 tires. Got them from Charles at Wheelautohaus. Price was right and service was great. The wheels were in stock at Vellano so there was no wait for them. I did want the Pirelli PZero tires which I waited a few weeks to get, I could have had Michelin or Conti right away.

The new Renntech module is the cheapest and also the most flexible. You can get it for $1195 or less at Kronen or one of the other sponsors. If you are comfortable with some basic wiring you can install it yourself, or a shop can put it in with only a 1-2 hour labor charge.

Get the lighted door sills at For My Mercedes. Choose between AMG, Carlsson, Lorinser, and Brabus for $149. Quality is very good. Installation will take you about 2-3 hours.

You want the BE-7039 COMAND unit. Cheapest source is Ebay, I got mine from seller naviandbmwparts. He's in Lithuania but shipping was prompt, actually quicker than UPS ground would have been from the opposite coast. Basically all of these are 'used' but mine was in like new condition as advertised. Here is one up for auction now. You can also get these new for 3-4x the Ebay price through Steve a.k.a. MBenzNL. Installation will take 1-2 hours.

Modmaster Kevin M. has posted instructions here previously for installing the new COMAND unit as well as the door sills, plus Valentine radar and iPOD.

I haven't done any body work to my car, other than add a Lorinser roof spoiler.

There are some additional inexpensive interior mods you may want to consider. I've added a Kuda phone mount, chrome door pins and escutcheons, and a chrome reset pin. All were very easy to install and cheap. Also I installed a Brabus illuminated shift knob which was not cheap (got it from Kronen) but it is total dope -- though it only compatible with cars lacking Keyless Go like mine.

Hope something of this is helpful. HAVE FUN !!!
