Wink Suprise Suprise

I thought the CLS 63 was fast? I thought it a bit less punchy than her cousin the 55k? Well after talking to another 63 owner he starts talking bout how fast she shifts in SPORT MODE...I remember that little button and tonight while driving home in it I switched from C to S To my suprise the car downshifted and began shifting at higher revs, oh my, this car is Q U I C K and smooth. I could now hear each and every shift and it feels much closer to the 55 now in terms of torque. Sport setting for the suspension and sport for the transmission seems to be the ticket to the ultimate power sled.

I find it a little bit quicker using the paddles with ESP turned off.

I believe when driving in C mode and coming out of a stop. The car will drive in 2nd gear not out of first. So you should feel a BIG improvement.

I guess that is why I kept talking about how smooth the car was. For the first 600 miles I was in C mode. I have used the paddles and it does offer some serious improvement but so far the launch in sport mode feels fastest. Guess I need to work on my shift points.

Juice, just like the E55, C starts the car in 2nd gear and seems to shift slower too. When put in S after a thousand miles or so, it shifts like a beast and rev's much more freely. The 63 is a true beast IMO.

I only have it in Comfort mode when the in-laws are in...other then that, I'm always in Sport...what I have found is that when in Sport I can down-shift to where I need to be (the proper power-band) and the car's computer shifts at the PERFECT time...unlike when in Manual, where you can short-shift or red-line...that's a no-no...for me, the Sport is perfect!

Amazing stuff. This car is really Incredible, it sounds much better now that it is allowed to reach higher rpm prior to the upshift. I can actually hear and feel the car. What setting is your suspension in?

Juice, suspension is on Sport I, however for the twisties and occasional spirited drive I put it in Sport II. Transmission is however in S. I only use C for when its raining or the roads a slick.

Ok here is something that really adds speed..ESP off, manual shift points @ 5250 rpm....Oh man , out of control. I have 700 miles so Im going to wait till 1200 to go test @ California Speedway. I will likely just run 1/8, 1/4 maybe 0-186...oh my nerves
