That is true for the 55, but not for all CLS 63s, according to the manual. Mine is one that did not have the feature and Steve recreated it when he created folding mirrors for my car.

Good to know, It's a nice feature for curb parking.

i am too lazy to go down to the car and try this. but keep in mind that the righ mirror adjustment button has to be pressed in for the parking mirrors to work.
now does anyone know how to get a trick mirror kit for this car like the M5? That is theonly feature on the M5 that I really liked. Oh and the on screen parktronic. |
I really miss the back up camera I had the on the infiniti M

True, the 63 does not have it. I spent 20 minutes trying to engage it. The window sticker states that it has the option, but the manual says "when equipped". I had to call salesman, and he confirmed that the 63's do not have the option. $100k for a car, and no mirror option:nix:

My 63 has it. It is activated under the convenience option on the onboard computer cluster from the steering wheel. Mine was turned on and does go down upon backup..

I entered the convienience option and the specific mirror mode is missing. That is when I called the salesman, and he went to 2 other CLS63s on the lot to check, then he checked with the service amanger. Something seems odd, I don't have 030, could that be it?

yeah, already did that to no avail. I have the option per the MSRP sticker, and even referred him to the specific page on the manual. I would rather accept the fact I don't have it, than deal with the excuses at MBUSA. Customer service sucks.

I'll take it back. mine doesn't have the option either. I wonder what gives. Anyone know a good dealer I can take it to down here in Socal that can activate some features and also lower the car. MBLN won't do the lowering from what I have been told.
|
It works on my 63 and I don't have the 030 package. Turn to page 125 in your owners manual. You need to store the exterior rear view mirror parking position by adjusting the mirror to the curb while pressing memory. See the manual for full details. I'm pretty sure that all the 63's have it. It just requires setting it up correctly.
|
and if it doesnt, all steve does is activate it with star diagnostic. just have the dealer go in and activate it.
btw, that would piss me off if it didn't have it. but it doesn't matter cause my 55 does have it. |

Who is this Steve and where can I find him?

on ALL 2007 models mercedes took out the mirror-down-when-reversing feature...for the REST-OF-WORLD cars one only needs to set the mirror adjust button to the pass side and this mirror-down feature will still work as before even though it doesn't have the convenience setting menu for that feature in the IC anymore.
On the NORTHERN-AMERICA cars this somehow doesn't work like that and apparently that whole mirror-down-when-reversing thing is completely removed out of the 2007s... Dealers should know about it as it is listed amongst all other 2007 changes AND dealers ought to be able to get that feature back for you by versioncoding the IC accordingly (the feature still exists but is switched off by default...just like the miles/km setting, the degree F/degree C setting, the 12h/24h setting and so on). greetingz, |

The "mirror park feature" and key-dependent memory (a 220 thing) were both missing on my '06 S, even though they were in the book. The dealer said they were deleted and showed me the "specs subject to change" disclaimer in the book. After a few rounds of me griping, they agreed to turn them on with version coding if I agreed that they were not covered by the warranty. I'll deal with that in the future if need be, but they work fine now.
Pester your dealer to activate the park feature via version coding. MB has turned off these features because they cause too much user confusion. Trouble setting the position and remembering to have the right-hand mirror set has cost MB untold unreimbursed service visits. Key-dependent memory was even worse. |
