Bluetooth is here and it's awesome
Just got the bluetooth module (purchased through ebay from keenanmotors $305). Plugged it in, it paired up with my moto e815 in less than 5 seconds and downloaded the entire phonebook immediately.
It is nothing short of the best in-car bluetooth I have ever used. But here is a couple of things that irk me still: 1) I had hoped that you could call POIs on the NAV but just pressing call when you had the highlighted, I guess that's asking too much,. 2) No three way calling through the comand 3) No TXT through the Comand Overall though it works better than any other car (I've tried Lexus IS, and BMW 5 series). Sound quality is very clear and crisp. I am loving it. Would highly recommend getting one. |
Okay so I raved about the bluetooth yesterday when I first got it. But I do have a question.
Do you also have problems disconnecting the bluetooth and just using the handset? Mine just keeps going back to the car which is very annoying. T |
How's the sound quality for the person you are talking to?
|
The sound quality is excellent!
And the person I talk to can't tell if I am on bluetooth or not. I am guessing that will vary depending on the phone you're using though. With AC at full blast it kinda sucks but overall it's very nice. |
was just gonna start a thread on this topic :X
question for you. i have a 06 cls55 with no bluetooth or phone option. What do i need to buy or do to have my blackberry 8700c work? Does your module work exactly like if i were going to go to dealers and have them install the factory kit? by the way, can you point me to where i can get a kit like yours? thanks bud! |
You car has to already have the hands free comminication kit installed, otherwise you're going to pay a few grand. Check your windows sticker. It's that little plastic thing in your arm-rest (rounded edge triangular thing).
If you get that then you just but the Unit from MB dealer for $350 and just slide it in. Then it all works great, no other setup or install necessary. |
I looked into Bluetooth install but it was $2500+ because my car doesn't have voice recognition (LINGUATRONIC).
Oh well, not worth it for me. |
all i can say is mb sucks! 100k car and no freakin bluetooth, how lame is that. you can go get a 40k acura and it's a standard option. :X

My 2007 3 series has blue tooth.....

German car companies should use japanese electronics. Then you'd have the best of both worlds.

Clos 1) Get in the car and call someone as you're getting in. Then try and talk on the phone itself and not through the car (in case someone is in the car with you and you don't want them to hear the convo) . 2) initiate a phone call while in the car (handsfree) and then turn off the car and walk out. See what happens, phone stays connected to the car. Now try and disconnect it. It works but it tries to reconnect again very quickly. That might just be my phone though. |
blue tooth woes in my 2006 CLK500
I had Merceds install the blue tooth unit, much too expensive, but I did it anyway..
major problems.. there is a 30 foot range from the phone which means if you are within 30 feet of your car the car takes over and you cannot answer your phone unless you turn it off each time you get out.. there is no voice dial so I can either scroll thru my telephone directory or use my cell phone to find it and hit send then the car takes over... are these just more of the mercedes ingenious ideas to make us crazy.. as in the case of you cannot get remote start |

there should be a little button on the radio that says tel.. before you leave the car push that for 3 seconds. it will turn off the bluetooth. when you restart the car the blue tooth will find your phone again
