i think 0-100 the e55,sl55,e63 would be very very close, the sl55 slowly pulling away from the e55 and the e63 slowly (even slower than sl) pulling away from the sl after 100 or so

Wink

I just did 157 before I needed to slow down, I would have nailed it to 187 with a little more room. Felt like 85, literallly.

I tend to disagree, although the 63 is a little faster not enough to notice. The race win will depend on the driver, a 1/10 of a second has to do with reaction time IMO.

Thumbs up CLS63 AMG v SL55 AMG

Well, real-world action here...on Saturday, I saw what appeared to be a very new SL55 AMG going the other direction on a local street...so I quickly turned around and got on his tail...I was pleased to see that he was getting on the highway...so here we go...before we enter the highway the on ramp takes us almost in a complete circle(about 35 mph)...it was clear to we both hit it(quickly up to 60)...I'm on his tail, he is in the left lane(70mph)...but as the speeds climb(80-85mph)I started to pull, I move to right lane and pass him with no problem(It was easily 5 car-lenghts...but who knows when he let off)...I slowed at around 120...As he caught up and slowed next to me...he said, "Damn, that thing is fast!"

That was my first and only run with a SL55 AMG...(his top was up even thought it was 75 here in NC)

A buddy of mine works at Beck Mercedes...says the CLS55 and the SL55 are a bit slower then the CLS63...*stock* vs. *stock*

Take it for what it's worth.

I ran my SL55 against my E55 a while back. The runs were freeway pulls from say 50-130+.

Both times the SL55 was a bit slower than the E55. The SL55 has a better rear end and seems to feel quicker but in reality its actually a bit slower.

The E has less drag and the car weighs 200+ lbs less so the SL is slower for sure.

I think the 63 will win the run. I have test driven 3 63's and ALL fent faster than my E55. After seeing all the tests of the 63's I am pretty sure the 63 will win.
