HID KIT -- 6000K or 8000K?

What are owner/forum member thoughts in regards to using the V3 CarLab HID kit, 6000K in specific. if installed properly, should I experience issues with error codes, flickering etc?

Should I buy the low beam and fog light kits? $280 each.

Feed back is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

For the headlights, it would be wise to just swap out the halogens and put in OEM Bi-Xenon headlight housing.

I had a Carlab kit for the foglights in 9006 but it didn't fit right with my foglights. The bulb does not sit tight and snug in the socket, so I ended up returning it.

Also, one more thing about the color temperature. The higher the color temperature you go (4300 --> 6000 --> 8000), the bluer the light will get, but in the mean time, the light will also become dimmer and dimmer (less lumens).

5000-5500K is the highest color temp that I would go, it's a softer white with a slight hue of blue.

well what are the suggestions on getting the light on the foglamps to match alittle closer to the headlamps.. I know on my motorcycle I replaced the OEM's with some PIAA exteme whites and they are very bright white.. Does the foglamps take bulbs as well or would you have to replace the entire foglamp unit?

The PIAA are just regular halogen bulbs. I have those on my car as well (foglights, highbeams, and city lights) to match the Xenon bulb. Those are easy to do.

However, if you want real HID / Xenon and your car didn't come with the lighting package, I wouldn't recommend retrofitting one of those aftermarket HID kits. The real deal Xenon headlight housing that MBenzNL sells is the real deal.

I'm not sure about the regular CLS. You can find the info in your owner's manual though.

Well, you know, this is the CLS AMG forum after all, so CLS350 and 500s are thus referred to "regular CLS" here. No offense intended.

The city lights, aka parking lights, are the small lights that come on when you turn your your headlight switch one click from the auto position.

I was laughing out so hard my wife had to poke her head in to see if there's anything wrong.....

I have the PIAA Extreme White Plus for all of them. I believe they are around 4500K, which complement the stock xenon well.

I have a pic as well:

I'm going to change mine out soon.. I know with my motorcyle the xtreme white was night and day from the stock bulbs.. It almost looks HID bright on the bike.. thanks for the info and a laugh..

Happy Easter !
