2 questions about smoked out tail lights and my purchase
 

i just bought a 2006 cls 500 with amg package

for 52,888 plus taxes

it had 19000 miles on it and it was mercedes ben certified pre owned

did i get ripped off? the sticker price was 61,888 but i bargained it down.




also it came with smoked out tail lights and mirror blinkers

isnt that illegal? why would they sell it to me like that?

what should i do, thanks

Can't comment as to whether you got "ripped off" or not, however, if you're happy with the car ... enjoy it and don't worry about the deal. Besides ... it's not as if you can do much about it now.

As for the smoked lights - they're illegal in CA. However, if you're really concerned about them - take some photos of the lights and see if anyone local wants to trade you for stock lights. I have smoked lights on my car (and live in CA). Had to pay to have them done so I'm sure someone would love to have them if you're willing to trade them straight across. Now if they're really dark (almost black) then you might not find as many takers.
