The resonator balances the pressure between both sides of the exhaust. Straightpipes don't. That is all.

What you may not realize Akademiks is that those two (Roup and Goliath) are very good friends...at least it appears that way on another forum that Roup is a moderator on.
And yes, they are both most lilely much younger than you or I...and I am sure much cooler than you or I will ever be...in their eyes.
